Pet product labels give you plenty to read and very little help deciding what matters. PetRoot helps you see what's actually inside.
Scan the barcode of any food, treat, or topper for cats or dogs to find a product and see its available PetRoot Score, ingredients, evidence, safety notes, and score breakdown. PetRoot’s proprietary scoring system is informed by AAFCO nutrient profiles and label standards, WSAVA nutrition guidance, and a research library of more than 200 peer-reviewed studies.
Create profiles for your dogs and cats with details such as age, weight, allergies, sensitivities, conditions, and diet goals. With PetRoot Plus, Pet Fit checks reviewed product information against the profile you select, helping you spot a promising match or a reason to look more closely.
Plus members can also ask Spot about products, ingredients, scores, product recommendations, and everyday safety questions. Spot uses PetRoot’s product and safety information and can tailors all recommendations to each of your pets. When a barcode isn’t handy, search or browse the entire catalog of by product name, brand, or UPC. If PetRoot hasn’t reviewed a product yet, Plus members receive priority analysis for new submissions.
PetRoot provides educational information and does not replace veterinary care. For symptoms, suspected toxin exposure, medication questions, or condition-specific diet changes, contact a veterinarian or animal poison control.

Added support for supplements and dental chews, which now get claim-by-claim reviews. See how strong the research is behind each claim, how the label's amount compares with what studies used, and what PetRoot could verify about how it's made. PetFit also checks the daily amount and chew size for your pet.
Product pages now show what's on the label at a glance: ingredients, protein, fat, and calories.
Raw foods now carry a food-safety notice.
Plus subscribers can restore their subscription and pets on a new phone.
