Nistikon — Orthodox Calendar
Fasting, Feasts & Prayer Rule
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Today's fasting rule in plain English, the feasts and saints of the day, a Pascha countdown, and your own prayer rule — bundled for offline use, with no ads or tracking.
What is the fast today? Nistikon answers that question the moment you open it — in plain English, with bundled content that works offline.
Built for Orthodox Christians — from catechumens taking their first steps to lifelong faithful — Nistikon is a calm, respectful daily companion. No ads. No accounts. No tracking. Nothing to sync.
TODAY AT A GLANCE
• The day's fasting rule, spelled out: "Wine and oil are allowed today."
• The feasts and saints commemorated, with a short life for each
• Scripture reading references for the day
• A live countdown to Pascha
A 50-YEAR CALENDAR
• Every day from 2026 to 2075, color-coded by fasting level
• Tap any day for its full detail
• New-Calendar and Old-Calendar (Julian) modes
• Jurisdiction presets: Greek (GOARCH), Antiochian, OCA, ROCOR, Serbian
YOUR PRAYER RULE
• Build a Morning and Evening rule from a library of public-domain prayers
• Large, readable type for prayer
• Gentle daily reminders — entirely optional, off by default
WIDGETS
• Home-screen and lock-screen widgets showing today's fast at a glance
PRIVACY BY DESIGN
• Bundled calendar and prayer content works offline — even in Airplane Mode
• No ads, no analytics, no data collection of any kind
All prayer texts are public domain (Hapgood, 1906, and other pre-1923 sources); sources are listed in the app. Fasting practice varies — Nistikon follows a widely published simplification, and every fasting screen reminds you to follow the guidance of your own priest.
