See how far your little chess player has come. When your child reaches a chapter that needs a grown-up’s help, they can now revisit a real moment from their learning first. Saved knowledge-check recaps show the puzzle they solved, how the piece moves, and its starting squares. Tock offers a gentle spoken invitation to bring a grown-up over. Subscription options remain behind the grown-up check.

More encouragement for little chess players! • When a move would cause a stalemate against Greedy, Tock now shows why it’s a tie and helps your child try another move—with spoken guidance and board animations. • Smoother celebrations: “Keep playing” now takes your child onward to their next activity. • Bug fixes and reliability improvements.

Celebrate your child's chess progress! Watch highlights from new achievements, revisit saved moments, and let a grown-up save or share a video with family. New Champion celebrations bring together a solved challenge, movement knowledge, and starting-square placement. We've also made knowledge checks clearer and improved trophy navigation.

A smoother start to your chess adventure! Kids now head straight from the introduction into their first Rook lesson. The optional free-trial offer appears only when you skip the introduction.

Learning how chess games end just got clearer. • Reworked check and checkmate lessons with more hands-on practice, spoken hints, and clearer visual guidance.
 • A new introduction before full games helps kids understand which side they’re playing and how to win.
 • Simpler explanations of ties, with consistent language throughout the app.
 • A guided introduction to your child’s first trophy and piece collection.
 • Improvements to game progression, purchases, and restoring access. Thanks to the parents sharing feedback—it’s helping us make Tock better for new chess players.

In this update are some behind the scenes improvements, as well as a bug fix: the second boss (Greedy) was unlocking before the defensive challenges were complete. That's now fixed.

A small housekeeping release. Behind the scenes improvements.

One new thing, and it's for the grown-up doing the setup. • The intro now ends with a step just for you: start the 7-day free trial while the iPad is still in your hands, or skip straight into playing. The Rook and Bishop chapters are free either way, always. • Small fixes and polish.

Small update, mostly for the grown-ups. • The grown-ups check is now quick addition instead of multiplication. It should slow down kids, not you. • The mini board that teaches how the Pawn moves now uses the same bright dots and rings as every other board. • Small improvements behind the scenes.

A quick fix-up release. Small improvements behind the scenes.

Most of this update came from feedback from families trying the app for the very first time. • If the sound is off, the app now says so right from the first screen. Tock talks the whole way through, so a muted iPad used to look mysteriously quiet. • The first time extra friendly pieces appear in a puzzle, Tock explains the rule out loud: you can't go through your own pieces, so find a way around. • The dots and rings that show where a piece can go now share one bright, easy-to-spot style on every board. • Squashed a rare crash and trimmed the download size. • Behind the scenes, we added anonymous usage counts (US only) so we can see which puzzles need love. No ads, no tracking, nothing tied to you or your child.
