Niva now teaches. Sixteen short lessons cover every rule, from the first dig to the last mine, and you can try any of them from Settings. Hints show the next move and explain why, and on Easy they are free without limit. Settings are now in groups, so what you look for is easier to find. The fields ask for more thinking than before, most of all on Expert, and every step can still be worked out from the numbers alone.

Niva opens on a new launch screen. After an install or an iOS update, the first screen now prepares its graphics in the background. Sharing from an iPad no longer closes Niva. Some text reads more naturally in several languages.

Niva keeps far less memory in hand. The board's artwork is handed back while the game sits in the background, so iOS is less likely to close it behind you.

A long think on a Hard or Expert board can run minutes without a tap, and the screen would dim. Keep screen awake, new in Settings, holds it lit while you work. It is off unless you turn it on — a puzzle that quietly drains a battery is not one worth making. Sharing a result now sends one link to the day's board instead of three. The store links moved to the QR on the picture card, out of the way. Settings shows which version you are on. Thank you for playing.

Expert is here — the full 30×16 field, 99 mines. Pinch to zoom, drag to move around, and the moment you clear it the picture zooms out so you see the whole thing. Tap a number once its mines are flagged and the rest of its neighbours open at once. Leave a board half-solved and it will be waiting where you left it. Keep a field you liked and play it again whenever you want. Sound no longer interrupts whatever you were listening to. More accessible: clue numbers stay inside their disc at any text size, removing a kept field asks first, and the collection's controls are bigger and read properly with VoiceOver.
