Watch Plan — Crew & Rest
Who is on, and who sleeps
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Three crew on three hour watches gets everyone six hours down. Two crew on two hour watches gets nobody deep sleep. See it before the passage, not during it.
Watch Plan works out who is on deck, when, and how much sleep each of them actually gets.
FOUR SYSTEMS, WITH THE REAL NUMBERS
Two, three or four hours on rotating, plus the Swedish uneven pattern. Enter the crew and the app builds the roster and tells you the thing that matters: the longest unbroken rest anyone gets. Three crew on three hour watches gives six hours down, enough for a real sleep cycle. Two crew on two hour watches gives two, and nobody reaches deep sleep on that.
THE ROSTER, HOUR BY HOUR
Every slot for the day with the name against it, night watches marked so you can see at a glance who keeps drawing the bad ones.
THE SWEDISH PATTERN
Uneven daytime watches shift the roster by themselves each day, so nobody gets the same night watch twice running. No dog watches to remember, no arithmetic at midnight.
WHAT THE APP TELLS YOU STRAIGHT
The hardest watch is 0400 to 0800, because that is when body temperature and alertness are both at their lowest. A fixed roster hands it to the same person every night. Two hours on is not a sleep system and works for one hard night before it starts costing you judgement.
SAVE PLANS
Keep the roster for each passage and load it back next time. One plan is free, more unlock together.
WORKS OFFLINE
No account, no signal.
This is a planning tool. Sea state, crew experience and how the passage is actually going decide what happens on the night, and when it gets difficult the plan goes and everyone is on deck. Return to it as soon as you can, because a drifting roster is how a crew ends up exhausted without noticing.
