- My Matches now leads with your next match: the main card shows the soonest fixture of the teams you follow, then the rest in kick-off order.
- Calmer reminders: automatic reminders are now only for the teams you follow, at most five a day, never between 23:00 and 08:00, and matches starting together arrive as one notification.
- Improved results and live data accuracy.
- MatchCountdown stays free with small ads on content screens. Pro removes all ads.
1.9.15 6d ago
MatchCountdown stays free with one small sponsored card on Today and a banner at the very end of match pages. No pop-up or full-screen ads, and live scores, countdowns and votes are never covered. Pro subscribers see no ads. Ad privacy choices are under Profile.

1.9.1 Sep 30
New: the UEFA Nations League hub — group standings, fixtures and fan polls. Pick the champion, the Player of the Tournament, the top scorer and where your team will finish its group. Nations League cards on Today and Explore, and national flags in the Live Activity.
1.8.3 Sep 24
Leagues that share a name now say which country they belong to — an Omani cup tie no longer reads as England's FA Cup, or outranks a Madrid derby on the "next big match" card.
A match that has just kicked off says "Underway" instead of claiming no result was recorded, and the tab bar no longer covers the end of the match screen.
The ballot no longer promises it asks for nothing when it asks for a name, in every language the app speaks. Percentages are written the way your region writes them.
One honest count of how many matches are live right now, on the header and in the Live tab alike.
1.8.2 Sep 21
• Tap anywhere on the featured card to open the match — the lower half used to do nothing.
• Your vote counts on the first tap; the leaderboard name is now optional and asked afterwards.
• Competitions that share a name — ten of them are called "Premier League" — now show their country.
• Two players who share an initial no longer share the same badge.
1.8 Sep 17
• Team and match stats now count official competitive matches only — friendlies are excluded, and every block says so.
• Fixtures whose kickoff time is not yet final carry a "subject to official confirmation" note.
• Each sport gets its own metrics: no more clean sheets or over 2.5 goals on a basketball or NFL page.
• Denser match and team screens, so more fits on one screen.
• Calendar exports carry the competition, the round, and a confirmed or tentative status.
• Reminders stay in sync across your devices.
1.7 Sep 15
• Pre-match data & trends on every match: league rank and points, win rate, goals scored and conceded per game, both teams to score, over/under 2.5 and clean sheets
• Season trends on team pages, next to recent form
• Followed teams show a quick form indicator on their card
• Match reminders now name the competition
• Standings show more of the table, with your teams highlighted
• Every data block states its source, with a link to report errors
• Weekend Sports Radar: a Friday digest of the weekend fixtures for the teams you follow, across every sport
• Monday digest with your prediction standings
• Formula 1: full race weekend schedule and a Lights Out alert 10 minutes before the start
• Tennis: court queue note when a start time is still tentative
• Prediction streaks: a badge for 3 or more correct picks in a row
• Share any countdown as an Instagram story card
• Onboarding now lets you follow teams from more than one sport from the start
1.6 Sep 15
The free app now carries a single banner ad. Pro removes it entirely.
Match reminders were not arriving at all on some devices. The notification plumbing behind them has been replaced and they now do.
Empty statistics cards are no longer shown when a match has no data yet.
1.5 Sep 8
• Today now opens with the day's match count and how many are live, right in the header.
• The live strip scrolls on its own, so every live match comes to you instead of hiding behind a swipe.
• A more compact first card, so the feed starts higher up the screen.
• Sharper, crisper icons on every screen.
• New in Profile: a Privacy switch to turn off anonymous usage data whenever you like.
1.4 Sep 5
Team-first onboarding: pick your clubs first, and your feed opens already filtered to them.
New "My Reminders" list on My Matches — see and cancel every reminder you've set, in one place.
Long-press any match to share it or add it to your calendar.
Offline banner when your connection drops, so a quiet feed doesn't read as a broken one.
Live tab: filter by sport, and a "just finished" strip above the live matches.
Smoother match-to-detail transitions, better support for larger accessibility text sizes, and a round of Reduce Motion and VoiceOver fixes throughout the app.
1.3 Aug 31
MatchCountdown Pro is here — one purchase, kept for good, no subscription.
• Reminder timing is yours: an hour, three hours or a day before kickoff instead of a fixed fifteen minutes. It applies to the reminders you have already set, not only new ones.
• The home-screen widget can follow one team, league or sport, so it counts down to your match rather than to whatever kicks off soonest anywhere.
• Automatic reminders: every match your followed teams play gets one on its own, at the timing you chose.
Also in this version: the app now runs on iOS 16.2, so more devices can install it.
1.2 Aug 28
This release makes the app faster, personal, and finally useful after the final whistle.
NEW: AFTER THE MATCH

• Set-by-set scores in tennis, the podium in Formula 1
• One tap from the match screen to the league table

• Change your pick any time until kickoff
iPAD SUPPORT

• "Show all matches" reaches lower-division fixtures too
• Search is twice as fast, and its subtitles are in your language
DESIGN

• Changing the sport filter scrolls back to the top
• ATP matches no longer appear under WTA
• Standings order corrected for US leagues
• Pre-season empty tables now say so
• Long team names are no longer clipped
• A finished Grand Prix no longer counts down to itself; the race is named on screen and the podium stands as its result
