Only for Mac

Mac
Drag Syutto's floating note button to wherever it is easiest to reach.
Press it and a note opens right over your work, without stealing focus.
Syutto ("shoot-toh") is a quick-note app for macOS. A small button sits on your screen, and one press opens a note.
Drag the button wherever you like. Press it, and a note opens right on top of the app you are using.
No switching apps, no giving up half your screen — just write, the moment something comes up.
Handy for moments like these:
・Jotting down the key points while you research
・Taking notes during a call, as the conversation goes
・A temporary home for ideas that pop into your head
・Keeping frequently used snippets and commands close at hand
■ Ready to write instantly
Click the button or press the hotkey, and you are ready to type.
It opens over app windows, over full-screen apps, and on whichever virtual desktop you have moved to.
When you are done, click anywhere outside the window.
Saving is automatic, so you can get straight back to what you were doing.
■ Stays out of your way
While the window is closed, it is just a button.
It does not take over your screen, and since it lives in the menu bar, it needs no space in your Dock.
It is a native app, so it stays light — leaving it running will not slow your Mac down.
You can even turn the button off and open notes with the hotkey and the menu bar alone.
■ Keep it up while you work
Lock the window and it stays open while you use other apps.
Read your notes as you work, or keep a place to write ready at all times.
■ Search your text, and your notes
Search inside a note, or search across your notes.
⌘F opens the find bar for searching and replacing text. ⌥⌘F — or the search field in the note list — finds the note itself.
■ Plenty of hotkeys
⌃⌥M opens the note window, ⌘N creates a new note. ⌘F searches inside the note, ⌥⌘F searches your notes.
⌥↑ and ⌥↓ move between notes, and Esc closes the window.
⌘E exports, ⌥⌘⌫ deletes.
Everything you need is on the keyboard.
And the hotkey that opens the note window can be changed to whatever you like.
■ Make it yours
Choose the button's size, icon and color.
Adjust the panel's theme color, the body text size, the window size, and which way the window opens.
Turn on the direction ring in Settings and a quartered ring appears around the button — press its top right, bottom right, top left or bottom left corner to open the note window that way.
■ Export to a file
Notes can be exported as txt or md.
Export one at a time or all of them at once, so keeping them elsewhere or sharing them is easy.
■ Trash and backups
There is a trash, and backups too.
Deleted notes stay in the trash for 30 days, so you can bring them back. Backups come in two kinds — manual, and automatic once a day — so even a permanently deleted note can be restored if it is in one of them.
Simple by design. What it does well is let you write the moment something comes to mind, with the small details taken care of.
Requires macOS 14.0 or later

■ A direction ring around the button
You can now show a direction ring around the floating button. Press its top right, bottom right, top left or bottom left, and the note window opens that way.
Turn it on in Settings → Menu bar & button → Show direction ring.
■ Fixed notes not opening on other Spaces
Fixed an issue where pressing the button on a Space other than the first one did not bring up the note window.
