ABOUT THIS EDITION
The English text is Annie Besant’s The Bhagavad-Gita or The Lord’s Song, fourth edition, published in 1922. Its 701 verses include Arjuna’s opening question in chapter 13; numbering differs from editions that omit it. The historical wording is preserved, with documented source repairs and no imported edition footnotes.
The original AI-assisted explanations are reading aids, separate from scripture and traditional commentary, and may contain errors. Hindu traditions offer different interpretations. Historical social statements are presented as part of the source text, not as rules endorsed by the app. Roman-letter Sanskrit and pronunciation guidance are reading aids; regional and chanting traditions differ. Audio playback is not included.
Edition details, source credits, licensing, and a reusable scripture text export are available in Library → Sources & permissions.
