Mask sensitive data in documents before sharing them with AI. Everything is processed locally on your Mac—your files are never uploaded. Sanitizr helps you prepare documents before sharing them with an AI service. It masks selected sensitive values and removes privacy metadata locally on your Mac. MASK SENSITIVE VALUES Automatically detect email addresses, phone numbers, payment card numbers, U.S. Social Security numbers, IBANs, IPv4 addresses, and web URLs. Add custom words for names, clients, companies, projects, or internal terms that need their own labels. SUPPORTED FILES Process DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, CSV, TXT, Markdown, JSON, and log files. Office text in document bodies, tables, headers and footers, speaker notes, and supported shapes is handled where applicable. OFFICE PRIVACY CLEANUP Remove common Office metadata, authors, comments, revision information, thumbnails, package timestamps, and privacy metadata from supported embedded images. Word tracked changes are accepted, deleted revision text is removed, and comments are removed from the exported copy. Your original file is never overwritten. LOCAL BY DESIGN Document contents, custom words, masked values, and restoration keys are not uploaded to our servers. Document processing happens inside the app sandbox on your Mac. StoreKit communicates with Apple only for Pro product information, purchases, restoration, and entitlement checks. RESTORE VALUES LOCALLY Each successful run creates a separate CSV restoration key. Keep it private and never share it with an AI service. During the current app session, Sanitizr can automatically select a recent key so you can restore values in an AI reply without choosing the key file again. FREE AND PRO The Free edition includes up to 10 runs per day, one file at a time, all nine custom-word categories, and custom words for the current session. The one-time Pro upgrade removes daily and batch limits and adds encrypted local history for up to 50 custom-word sets. IMPORTANT Masking is best-effort. Some specialized Office parts, embedded data, images, macros, and values that do not match a configured rule may remain. Sanitizr warns when it finds an embedded item it cannot inspect safely and lets you cancel, remove it, or continue with a privacy report. Always review exported files before sharing them. Requires an Apple Silicon Mac (M1 or later) with macOS 13 or later. PDF and legacy or macro-enabled Office formats are not supported in version 1.0.
