PDFS WITHOUT SOURCE SCRIPTS AND ATTACHMENTS
Kernel redraws pages into a new PDF. Source JavaScript, automatic actions, forms and attachments are not carried over. Interactive forms therefore no longer work as forms.
IMAGES WITHOUT PERSONAL METADATA
Images are decoded and re-encoded without carrying over source location, camera details or timestamps. Visible content remains: an address shown in a photo is not redacted.
A CONCRETE RESULT
The decontamination receipt describes what reconstruction excludes for the file types processed. Failed and skipped files remain identified. Format and size changes appear in the result.
USE THE CLEAN COPY
Files are processed locally without being sent to a server for cleaning. Your originals remain unchanged, with their existing content: Kernel creates separate copies to use or share.
FORMAT AND SIZE OPTIONS
Choose available format, dimension and compression options. Kernel reports transparency or dynamic-range conflicts and asks for your agreement before a conversion that introduces those losses.
FROM PHOTOS, FILES OR THE SHARE SHEET
Import a batch or send files to Kernel from another app. Share the resulting copies when processing finishes.
A PRECISE SCOPE
Reconstruction reduces certain risks associated with the excluded structures. It does not detect every threat or guarantee a file is free of all threats. On iPhone, reconstruction runs inside the app. Separate reconstruction services and sealed archives belong to Kernel on Mac. Local media conversions are available on iPhone within the limits shown for each route.
LOCAL CONVERSIONS
Convert data-only CSV, TSV, XLSX and ODS tables; formulas and unsupported workbook features are refused. Reconstruct supported TXT, Markdown, RTF, DOCX and EPUB content with explicit layout limits. Review and correct PDF/image recognition before exporting text, tables, documents or a searchable PDF. Assemble images in order, rebuild supported audio and video, render limited local SVG/HTML, and create ZIP transport copies from selected ZIP/TAR/7z members. Archive transport is not sanitization. Results are temporary: save the reviewed copy before closing.
APPLE APP EXPORT ASSISTANCE
Guided export and return with Numbers, Keynote and Pages requires the corresponding Apple app. Kernel checks the returned container, not complete fidelity. Fonts, formulas and layout may change; presentation tables and text can be lost. Check every slide and table in both apps before sharing.
