Drift By is a free space arcade game with one rule: you don't steer the rocket. You drop black holes, and gravity does the flying.
Put a finger on the screen and time stands still. Drop a black hole, let go, and your rocket swings around it – past walls, lasers and whatever else is hanging around up there. The same hole that saves you also pays your bills: everything it swallows turns into points.
WHAT'S WAITING UP THERE
• An endless climb: from morning sky through the stratosphere into orbit – and past that, things get strange.
• No two runs alike: walls and obstacles reshuffle every time you launch.
• Asteroid fields with shapes: diamonds, waves, arcs, spirals. One well-placed hole harvests the whole field at once.
• Combos up to ×10, checkpoint bonuses every two kilometers – and a balance that keeps whispering about a new ship.
• A hangar full of ships with their own abilities: warp portals, nova shockwave, shield, fire dash, escort wing, overdrive. Plus a secret ship for anyone who completes the collection.
• Boost and brake, for players who like to pick their own pace.
• Daily bonus in the hangar: one short video a day doubles your balance.
• Game Center: your best altitude against the world and your friends, with weekly rankings and achievements. Share your record as a picture with one tap.
BUILT FAIR
Drift By is completely free, with no in-app purchases. Every ship is unlocked with points you earn by playing. Ads are strictly optional: a video to continue a run, refill your lives or claim the daily bonus. No account, no sign-up, plays offline.
QUESTIONS PEOPLE ASK
Do I need an internet connection? No. Drift By runs offline; only the leaderboards need a connection.
How do I control it? One finger, anywhere on the screen. Hold to freeze time and aim, release to drop the black hole.
Are there in-app purchases? None. Every ship is earned with points.
How long is a run? A few minutes. It's built for a queue, a bus ride, a break.
Can I play one-handed? Yes – the whole game is one thumb.
How do I learn it? Tap "How to play" in the main menu: three short cards. After that, you're on your own.
A run takes a few minutes. So does the next one. And probably the one after that.
