A scanner that actually reads the card. This is the update Pocket ID has needed since day one. Adding a card means pointing your camera at it — and now that part just works. The new scanner We replaced the old text reader with a scanner built for documents. It understands the card in front of it instead of guessing at letters, so glare, angles, and busy backgrounds throw it off far less. In our own testing, it reads the right value on roughly nine fields in ten, where the old one managed about a third. You still get a quick review screen before anything saves — it's just a glance now, not a re-type. Barcodes and QR codes work Membership cards, loyalty cards, passes — Pocket ID now reads the actual barcode or QR code, not just a photo of it. The card carries the real data and renders back crisply when something needs to scan it. Everything else is where you left it: every document in one place, an expiry countdown on every card, front and back, copy any field, and cloud sync still off until you turn it on.
