If your display name can't appear on the leaderboard, the app now tells you why and lets you pick a new one.

Small improvements and fixes.

Fixed: a leaderboard with more than 200 players stopped at the 200th and never loaded the rest.

You can now star yourself, to see your own time among the players you've starred. Fixed: reopening a game you had left could show the same Set twice and count it twice. Fixed: scrolling to the end of a leaderboard left a stretch of empty space below the last player.

Your game now picks up where you left off if you close the app. Fixed: the puzzle sometimes drew at half size until the app was restarted.

Dark mode. The app now follows your phone's appearance setting — switch your phone to Dark Mode and the puzzle comes with you, cards and all.

Choose how you appear on the leaderboards. Open your profile, tap Edit in the top corner, and pick any username you like. It updates everywhere, including past leaderboards, and you can change it once a week. Fixed: starring or unstarring someone on the web now shows up in the app when you come back to it, instead of waiting for a restart.

Star your friends and family to see them at the top of the daily leaderboard, with the same rank they have on the full board. Your starred list is private. Players you've starred who haven't played yet today are listed too, so you can see who's still to go. Star someone from their profile, or press and hold their row on any leaderboard. Fixed: if your sign-in stopped working, the app kept showing you as signed in while scores quietly failed to save. It now asks you to sign in again.

Personal bests now show on the Play screen's leaderboard too. Fixed: after attempting a Set, the UI was blocked from accepting new card taps while an animation briefly appeared (red/green flash). The UI is no longer blocked, allowing for more rapid play.

Daily leaderboards now show each player's personal best under their time for that day. A best time appears in green when a player gets a personal best on that day. Fixed: The game board layout was updated to accommodate smaller iPhones such as the the SE and the mini.

The timer now pauses when you lock your screen or switch apps, so the time on screen is the time that gets submitted. Fixed: finishing the same day's puzzle on another device could overwrite the result you had already posted. Your first result of the day now stands, and the app tells you when a run wasn't recorded. Fixed: the badge count on a leaderboard row now matches the total shown on your profile.
