Tilt your phone and watch as glass beautifully tumbles through mirrors. Choose your colors, wrap it, add a tag and share your unique kaleidoscope with a unique person. A kaleidoscope you can make, watch, keep and/or give. Every kaleidoscope designed and built is backed by the science used to make the real thing. Your screen shows the iInside of a chamber of colored glass that tumbles as you tilt your phone, folded through true mirrors positioned to create custom patterns that have never existed before and that arrangement will not be created again. Nothing loops. Nothing repeats. Always uniquely yours. A GIFT TO START The app opens on a small wrapped parcel with a tag that reads "For you." Tap it, the paper falls away, and your first scope is in your hands. HOLD IT UP Tilt your phone and the glass slides and settles. Turn the barrel with two fingers. Press and hold to bring the glass to a stop, then keep that moment as a plate: a still image you can save or share. Choose how the glass moves with the fill: Fast, Medium, Slow, or Sleepy. THE SHELF Your scopes are stored on a shelf in the app, each one its own object in brass, cherrywood, paper, or hammered tin. Read a scope's tag to see who gave it, when, and what they wrote. THE WORKBENCH Make your own. Start from a tray of glass such as Tide Pool, Harvest, or Stained Glass, 1974, or pull the colors out of one of your own photos. Add pieces from a drawer of named art glass, choose tumbled glass, beads, or shards, pick three, four, or six mirrors, and a look: Cathedral glass, Frosted glass, or Cut jewel. The scope changes live as you build. Give it a name when it is right. GIVE IT AWAY Wrap a scope in paper, write the tag in your own words, and send it by Messages, Mail, or AirDrop. When it is opened in the app, the gift lands wrapped on their shelf, waiting to be unwrapped. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account, no sign-in, no ads, and no tracking. Your scopes live on your iPhone. A photo you choose for glass is read on your phone and never uploaded. PRICE Turnglass is free to download. Opening gifts, holding every scope on your shelf, keeping plates, and sending any scope on your shelf as a gift are always free, and your first scope at the Workbench is free too. The Workbench Key is a single in-app purchase that opens unlimited making. No subscription and no ads, and the key is shared with your Family Sharing group. Requires iOS 17 or later.
