Eat healthy, home-cooked dinners and save $s with our free meal planner app. Tested recipes. Weekly meal plans. Smart grocery list. Take back your weeknights!
WeeknightBite comes loaded with real weeknight dinners, cooked and tested by a person before they go in the app. Pick five for the week and it builds one grocery list for you.
DINNER, DECIDED
Stop deciding at 5 pm. Choose five dinners from the library in a couple of minutes, or let WeeknightBite fill the week. Swap any night with one tap.
ONE GROCERY LIST, BUILT FOR YOU
Quantities merged across every recipe, sorted by aisle, tick off what you already have. A pound of chicken for Monday and Wednesday shows up once, with the amount you actually need.
REAL RECIPES, INCLUDED
No empty cookbook to fill. Every dinner in the library is cooked and tested by a person before it goes in the app, with clean step-by-step timelines, built-in timers and honest cook times.
SAY WHAT YOU CAN'T EAT, ONCE
Set your dealbreakers and dietary preferences during setup. Gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, low-carb, kid-friendly, and the ingredients you never want to see. Every plan respects them.
COOK HANDS-FREE
Hands covered in raw chicken? Wink right to advance a step, wink left to go back. The front camera does it on-device; nothing is recorded or uploaded.
ONE PLAN FOR THE WHOLE HOUSE — FREE
Invite your partner or roommates. Everyone sees the week, everyone can add to the list, and it updates in real time. When one person upgrades, every device in the household unlocks. No second purchase.
WHEN TUESDAY GETS BUSY
Chaos Calendar reads how packed your evenings are (busy and free blocks only, never the details) and puts fast dinners on the hard nights. Plans changed? Move a meal; the list follows.
TWO WAYS TO COOK EVERY RECIPE
Quickest mode for 30 minutes flat, or Dish Saver mode for one pan to wash. Same recipe, your choice tonight.
BRING YOUR OWN RECIPES
Share a link from Instagram, TikTok, YouTube or a blog. WeeknightBite extracts clean steps with timers and adds the ingredients to the same list.

Im cheering these folks on! I hope their team grows and they get to the point of hiring a chef. The app’s functionality is great! It has everything you want:- recipes that are actually meals (not just one side or one main)- family sharing (linked accounts) and accounting for individual portion sizes- metric/imperial conversions- check-off grocery list that you can add to AND organize to match how your grocery store is actually laid out (no scrolling to find the section youre walking through)- nutrition info and filtering (and setup and meal restriction preferences)- meal planning by day if you want to- favoriting AND ratings for meals- super duper easy importing of external recipes (seriously, surprisingly easy)- cooking mode with hands free and integrated timers- save whats in your pantry (if you want to)- SUPER RESPONSIVE TEAM. Im not kidding, they actually emailed me back with a fix to my issue.Im rooting for these developers and this app! This is exactly what I was looking for when Mealime closed. Thank you and keep going!
Fantastic Mealime Replacement

I downloaded this app because Mealime is shutting down and so far it has been fantastic. I really like a lot of the features that it has that others do not especially how easy it is to add ingredients to your shopping list and have them auto populate for future meal planning.
Replacement Mealime!

So far a great app! It’s very similar to Mealime and has the same backbone of creating recipes for the week and reducing waste. So happy it was built!

Not as smart as Mealime
MiCPA
Does a decent job bringing in Mealime recipes. The ai photos on the app are off putting. Does a god awful job importing from a photo. Does well with importing from websites. The grocery list isn’t smart. I typed milk and it assumed it was canned.
Developer Response
Being compared with a legend like Mealime is a real compliment. They set the bar for all of us, and we’re glad your imported Mealime recipes came across well. You’re right about the milk, and thank you for saying it. A plain “milk” was matched to coconut and evaporated milk, so it landed in Canned Goods. we’ve found the cause, and the fix is on its way in our next update. the app's milk ingredient is called "Whole Milk" and that wasn't matching the first thing. On the photos, yes, some are AI generated, and we’re open about it (see our website). we’re a small team, and a photo studio for every dish would have taken the budget we put into the recipes instead. every recipe is cooked and tested by a person before it goes in the app. AI lets us show you what each dish should look like on a tuesday night, and we’re already have plans to shoot photos for all of our recipes, this will take us some time.If a recipe photo looks badly, we’d love to see know which so we could prioritize it first: hello@weeknightbiteapp.com. every example helps us fix the right thing. we read all messages we receive.Anton, WeeknightBite
• Photo, scan and PDF import now keeps every ingredient and every step, so a whole cookbook page comes in. On an iPhone with Apple Intelligence, the page is read right on your phone. Smart import reads the full text too.
• Plan later: from a recipe in your Library, or with a long press, save it for your next plan. Recipes waiting for it are marked on their cards.
• Edit a recipe's steps: add a step or delete one. Ingredients measured by volume can now be weighed in grams or ounces.
• Grocery list: typing "milk" finds whole milk, and the aisle menu has Add new.
• Better when your connection drops: plans, grocery lists and onboarding wait for the network instead of saving half a plan, and recipes waiting to load try again once you are back online.
• Tag pills show their names, and long ingredient names wrap under their amounts.
• Bug fixes and improvements.
