UnitSnap: Unit & Currency
Pay once. No subscription
$2.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Type it the way you would say it.
"5 km". "350f". "1 1/2 cups". "4800 yen". UnitSnap reads the line the way you actually write it and answers as you type — no picking a category first, no choosing two units from two menus before you see a number.
WHAT IT CONVERTS
• Length, weight, volume, area, speed, temperature, pressure, energy, data and fuel economy — hundreds of units
• 160+ currencies, from the European Central Bank's published reference rates
• Cooking measures, fractions included: 1 1/2 cups, 3/4 tsp
• Feet and inches the way people actually write them: 5'11"
MONEY, HONESTLY DATED
Currency answers say how old the rate is in words — "Live rate, fetched a moment ago", or "Cached rate from yesterday, not today's" — so you never have to work it out yourself. The last rates stay on the device, so it still answers with no signal.
BUILT TO TAKE STEPS OUT
• The box is already focused when the app opens — just start typing
• The keyboard opens on numbers, because every conversion begins with one
• "180 pounds" asks whether you mean weight or British pounds, then remembers your answer
• Tap any unit to make it the default for that measure. It sticks
• One tap reverses any conversion
• Pin the ones you reach for constantly
ALSO INCLUDED
BMI in US or metric units, and unit conversions for a set of common health values — glucose, creatinine, cholesterol, calcium and others — along with body surface area and ideal body weight. UnitSnap is a unit converter, not a medical device and not a clinical decision tool. It does not recommend a dose, a diagnosis or a course of treatment, and is not intended for use in patient care.
PRIVACY
UnitSnap collects nothing. No analytics, no advertising, no tracking, no account, no sign-in. Your pins, preferences and history stay on your device. The only request it ever makes over the network is for published exchange-rate reference data, and it sends nothing about you when it makes it.
One purchase. No subscription, no ads, nothing else to buy.
