Exhaust Note is not an app that plays back engine recordings. It synthesizes the sound from scratch, every moment, from the firing order created by cylinder layout and crankpin phasing.
Why a crossplane V8 rumbles, why a flatplane screams, why a V12 idle throbs — it all comes from the physics of firing intervals. This app computes that physics in real time.

Four new engines and four new transmissions.
• Flat-4 — opposing cylinders don't share a crankpin, so one bank fires twice within 180° and then waits 540°. The most uneven engine in the app.
• Flat-6 — same layout, but each bank fires evenly every 240°, so there's no rumble.
• V6 — the crankpin has to be split by 60° for the firing to come out even.
• V10 — the bank angle lands exactly right, so it's even without a split pin.
Added a 6-speed sequential dog box, 8-speed dual-clutch, 5-speed manual and 4-speed automatic. The sequential shifts in 0.05s by cutting ignition instead of the clutch.
Settings now has Bass. It tunes the resonance of the empty volume inside the muffler — exhaust bass comes from chamber size, not pipe length.
