Write what happened. Track what matters. Notice what changes. See your journal notes and custom trackers called Signals together over days, weeks, months, and chapters.
Oflate brings journal writing, personal tracking, and pattern exploration together on your device, while leaving what to record and what it means entirely to you. Capture a quick thought or write in detail. Create custom trackers called Signals for the habits, routines, and personal measures you want to follow. Use topic spaces called Streams to organize journal notes. Explore patterns in your Signals with dedicated visualizations called Lenses.
A paid auto-renewable subscription is required to access Oflate’s journaling, tracking, and exploration features. Monthly and annual plans unlock the same complete app. Free trial availability depends on the plan and your eligibility.
Look closely or step back:
• Choose Signal types that fit what you track: checkmarks, options, numbers, times, or durations.
• Return to any day to see its journal notes and Signals together.
• Move through week and month summaries to see how your record changes over time.
• Explore each Signal through detailed charts and statistics, from completion rates and distributions to trends, rolling averages, and weekday patterns.
• Explore visual patterns with Lenses: Tapestry maps multiple Signals across days, while Almanac shows one Signal month by month.
• Frame meaningful stretches of life with Chapters.
• Search your journal and return to earlier writing.
• Set daily reminders with your own name, time, and description for writing or Signal check-ins.
• Use App Lock to require Face ID or your device passcode when opening Oflate.
Write and track on your own terms:
Oflate keeps journal writing and self-tracking side by side. Use it as a daily diary, a home for quick notes, or a flexible habit tracker for routines and personal metrics. A Signal can be something you want to repeat, count, time, compare, or simply notice. There is no required mood scale, life category, or goal you must complete. You decide what matters and how often to record it.
Keep context beside the numbers:
Journal notes can explain what a chart alone cannot, while Signals make changes easier to notice across time. Streams give your writing a topic-based structure. Chapters frame meaningful stretches of life without turning them into projects or goals. When a distribution, trend, or rolling average catches your attention, you can return to the days behind it and read what was happening.
See patterns without automatic conclusions:
Oflate makes patterns visible through Lenses, summaries, charts, and statistics. There is no AI writing assistant, coaching, or automatic interpretation of your journal. Oflate presents the days and values so you can examine the evidence and decide what it means. The observation, reflection, and interpretation remain yours.
Local-first and offline for core use:
Oflate is local-first. Core journal data stays on your device, no Oflate account is required, and core journal writing and personal tracking work offline. Charts and statistics are calculated on-device. Together with App Lock, this provides a concrete privacy model based on local storage, on-device analysis, and access protection you control.
Keep control of your data:
Create a manual, portable JSON backup and restore it when needed. Export your journal as Markdown or CSV for sharing or analysis in tools you choose. You decide when to create a copy and where to send or save it. Backup, restore, and export are explicit actions, so you can take your data with you without relying on hidden account storage.
Return without pressure:
Search earlier writing, revisit any day, move between week and month summaries, or return to a Chapter when you want a wider view. Reminders can bring you back to writing and Signal check-ins, but a missed day remains part of your history, not a judgment. Start with one note or one Signal, then let your journal grow at the pace of your life.
