Chore Lock turns "did you do your chores?" into something that runs itself.
You assign the chores. Your kid does them and snaps a photo in the app. You approve from wherever you are, and their apps unlock seconds later. No nagging, no honor system: until the work is done, the apps you chose stay locked.
REALLY LOCKED, NOT PINKY-PROMISED
Chore Lock uses Apple's built-in Screen Time technology, the same system parental controls are made of. Games and apps you pick are shielded on your kid's iPhone or iPad until screen time is earned.
HOW IT WORKS
1. Create chores for each kid: one-time jobs or daily routines.
2. Kids see their list in a kid-friendly mode and submit photo proof.
3. You approve or send it back, right from your phone. On paid plans, an AI photo check can clear the obvious ones for you.
4. Approved chores add earned screen time; apps unlock instantly.
5. When time runs out, the shields come back on. Fair is fair.
BEDTIME AND SCHOOL, HANDLED
Set a household bedtime that locks apps for the night and school hours that lock during the day, with tonight-only exceptions when you say so. Import your school calendar on paid plans and days off take care of themselves.

Assign chores per kid, or post shared chores any kid can claim. Chore Bucks and the Market turn effort into rewards you set, and the family leaderboard and Jackpot make it a game. Everyone sees the same rules, so "that's not fair!" finally has an answer.

If enforcement drops or a kid's device goes quiet, your dashboard says so. We never fake a green light, and we'll never claim "unhackable": we tell you exactly what we block and alert you about what we can't.
PRIVACY FIRST
No ads. No third-party trackers. Ever. Chore photos delete automatically 7 days after they're submitted. We never see which apps your family picks or how long your kid uses any app; that stays on their device, per Apple's privacy design. We store the minimum: first name, birth year, chores, and time balances. On paid plans, the AI photo check sees the photo and the chore's name and nothing that identifies your family, and you can turn it off at any time.

A parent iPhone and a kid iPhone or iPad (iOS 18 or later) with a child Apple Account in your Family Sharing group. Free to start: the full locking engine, one kid, one device, and up to 8 chores, no card required. Premium Solo and Premium Family add more kids and devices, unlimited chores, AI photo checks, Chore Bucks and the Market, school-calendar import, pool chores, the Jackpot, and the leaderboard. Safety and reliability are never paywalled. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.

This update fixes a number pad that could stay stuck on the parent Dashboard after unlocking with Face ID.
Also in this update:
• Type any amount. Prize prices, jackpot goals, daily minutes, rollover caps, streaks, and the give-or-take sheets all take a typed number instead of repeated + and − taps.
• Kids without a paired device no longer show a "delivery still being confirmed" note.
• Signing out now asks first, so a stray tap can't log you out.
