JOURIST ScanFellow is the companion app for the JOURIST DS130 document scanner. It scans your documents in a flash, enhances them, and exports them – as a searchable PDF, Word document, PDF/A (archival, image PDF), or image file. Place a page, capture, done: the app detects the document automatically, crops and straightens it, and saves it in seconds. Optional enhancement brings out the best in every original: edge correction (perspective correction), automatic punch-hole removal, and automatic orientation. For recurring document types, create your own scan profiles and switch with a single click. The app even detects several smaller documents at once – such as receipts or business cards – fully automatically and saves each one separately. In auto-scan mode, it captures on its own as soon as you place a new document. Text recognition instantly captures printed text as well as handwriting in 30 languages. It runs entirely offline on your device. Send finished documents via the share menu by email or AirDrop, or file them in OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox (via the local sync folders). ScanFellow works completely offline – no cloud, no account, no ads, no tracking. All processing, including text recognition, happens locally on your Mac; your documents stay with you. That makes the app exceptionally privacy-friendly. Note: This app can only be used with the JOURIST DS130 document scanner. FEATURES • Lightning-fast scanning: place the document, capture, done. Live preview with automatic document detection; if you like, the app captures on its own as soon as the page lies still (auto scan). • Multi-document detection: several smaller documents such as receipts or business cards are detected simultaneously, fully automatically, and saved as individual pages. • Cropping your way: automatic (even multiple documents at once), manual, freehand polygon lasso, or no cropping at all. • Enhancement: perspective edge correction, automatic removal of punch holes, and automatic orientation via text recognition; alerts for duplicates and blank pages. • Image optimization: color modes – Color (original), Color (optimized), Grayscale, Black & white (document) – plus sliders for brightness, contrast, hue, and saturation, applied live and only to the detected document area. • Text recognition (OCR): searchable PDFs and Word documents in 30 languages – including handwriting, entirely on-device. • Versatile export: searchable PDF (multi-page or one file per page), Word (DOCX), PDF/A (archival, image PDF), and image files (JPG, PNG). • Scan profiles: save complete sets of settings (scan and export options) and switch in a flash; a read-only default profile is always included. • Sharing: save locally, send by email or AirDrop, or file in OneDrive, Google Drive, or Dropbox (via the local sync folders). • Protection & branding: protect PDFs with a PIN, add watermarks. • Barcodes & QR codes: detected automatically on the scan; copy the content or open it as a link, and optionally include it with the export as a text file. • Convenient gallery: multi-select, rotate (with undo/redo), delete, reorder by dragging. • Full-text search: searches the recognised text of every scan in the gallery – as well as codes and file names. • More tools: print, permanently black out text passages. • Polished interface: light and dark mode, user interface in 12 languages, keyboard shortcuts, and detailed built-in help. • Privacy: no cloud, no account, no ads, no tracking – everything runs locally on your Mac.
