Update to v1.2 Nulldent is a fast, keyboard-first text and code editor built for macOS. It combines a focused native interface with the development tools you need—without letting the editor get in your way. EDIT WITH FOCUS Work comfortably with line numbers, syntax highlighting, automatic indentation, smart bracket and quote pairing, matching-pair highlighting, code folding, multiple cursors, word wrap, visible whitespace, and configurable spaces or tabs. Navigate large files and projects using Quick Open, pinned tabs, split editors, bookmarks, document outlines, recent files, and workspace-wide symbol search. SEARCH WITH CONFIDENCE Find and replace text within the current document using case-sensitive, whole-word, or regular-expression matching. Search across an entire project, select individual results, and review proposed changes before applying project-wide replacements. Nulldent protects open files with unsaved changes from accidental replacement. CREATE CUSTOM SNIPPETS Use built-in, language-aware snippets or create your own. Assign each snippet a name, trigger, language, and reusable template. Type a trigger and press Tab to expand it instantly. Use the $0 marker to control where the cursor lands after insertion. WORK WITH GIT Clone repositories using HTTPS or SSH. View working-tree changes and diffs, stage and unstage files, create commits, pull, push, fetch, browse branches, and inspect commit history without leaving the editor. EDIT REMOTE FILES Connect to remote systems over SFTP using your existing SSH keys or SSH agent. Open, edit, save, and upload remote files from the same focused workspace. USE THE INTEGRATED TERMINAL Open a persistent shell in the current project folder with Command–J. Run builds, tests, scripts, and Git commands directly inside Nulldent. Compiler and test diagnostics are detected automatically. Select a recognized error or warning to open its source file at the reported line and column. MAKE IT YOURS Choose Adaptive, Midnight, Solarized Dark, Paper, or High Contrast editor themes. Create a custom palette for the background, text, keywords, strings, comments, numbers, tags, and punctuation. Configure indentation, wrapping, syntax highlighting, invisible characters, autosave, trailing-whitespace cleanup, final newlines, file encoding, and line endings. PROTECT YOUR WORK Nulldent can automatically save existing files after typing stops, restore your workspace between launches, and detect files changed, moved, or deleted outside the app. Crash-recovery snapshots preserve unsaved documents after an unexpected shutdown and let you restore or discard recovered work when Nulldent reopens. Nulldent can also become your default macOS editor for common text, source-code, script, markup, JSON, XML, Markdown, CSS, and CSV files. SUPPORTED FORMATS Nulldent recognizes many common languages and formats, including Swift, Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, XML, CSS, JSON, Markdown, Ruby, PHP, Java, Kotlin, C, C++, C#, Go, Rust, Shell, SQL, YAML, TOML, INI, Dockerfile, and Diff files. Saving documents is now more flexible. Choose a document type such as Plain Text, Markdown, HTML, JSON, or Swift, and Nulldent will suggest the appropriate file extension. Existing extensionless documents can also be updated when saved.
