KifKif now speaks 12 languages: Japanese, Korean, Simplified Chinese and Dutch join the previous eight. And in countries without a dedicated translation, the app now shows in English.

Retyping an amount is finally a single gesture. Tap it and the field clears at once, ready for the new figure — no more deleting digit by digit. The old amount does not vanish, though. It stays on screen in grey, the previous conversion remains visible just below, faded, and if you leave the field without typing anything, everything comes back as it was.

A welcome screen on the very first launch: KifKif now explains what the location it asks for is used for, before the system asks the question. You can decline with one button — the app works perfectly well without it. And now and then, a tip about a feature you could not guess from the main screen: the widget, the Apple Watch, Siri, the keypad. One at a time, never the same twice, and nothing more once you have seen them. The rate sources are now credited and tappable in the settings.

Quick amounts now adapt to every currency, not just a handful. The Costa Rican colón, the Lebanese pound and the Iranian rial finally offer shortcuts on their own scale. On iPad, hardware keyboards finally work: the amount field no longer locks itself when a Magic Keyboard is attached. The numeric keypad setting is honoured there too, where it used to be ignored in landscape.
