Clean up your Mac without sending data off it. Review every item first — Recommended and Caution labels, one-click cleanup, and Trash-first deletes you can always undo. Neatwise — a lightweight, safe cleaner and optimizer for your Mac. Caches pile up. Logs grow. Apps you deleted last year leave folders behind. Neatwise finds all of it, shows you what each item is, and removes only what you approve. Every scan and cleanup runs on your Mac — nothing is collected or uploaded. — SCAN, REVIEW, CLEAN — YOU STAY IN CONTROL Neatwise never cleans anything behind your back. Every scan ends on a review screen listing each item with its name, size and location. Items safe to remove are labeled Recommended; items worth a second look — Trash, Downloads, installers — are labeled Caution. Nothing happens until you press Clean Now. — ONE-CLICK SYSTEM JUNK CLEANUP A deep scan of system caches, app caches, logs, unused language files and browser traces, grouped into three lists you can read at a glance: • System Junk — caches and logs left behind by macOS and its services • App Junk — caches and logs written by the apps you use • Internet Junk — traces that browsers leave on your disk The summary card shows how much space is reclaimable, how many files were scanned, and the largest single file found — with its full path. — LARGE FILE CLEANUP Find the files quietly eating your disk. Neatwise groups them into documents, videos, audio, images and archives, sorts by size, shows when each was last touched, and reveals any of them in Finder with one click. — DUPLICATES & SIMILAR PHOTOS Identical duplicates and visually similar photos, detected so you keep only the copies you need — ideal for libraries that grew over years of imports and edits. — COMPLETE APP UNINSTALL Remove an app together with its preferences, caches, containers and other leftovers — not just the .app bundle. Each entry shows the version and how many leftover files belong to it; Neatwise also finds leftovers of apps you removed long ago. — PRIVACY CLEANUP Erase cookies, browsing history, caches and other private data from Chrome, Edge and other major browsers. See what each browser stored and how many items are involved before you clear it. — LOGIN ITEM MANAGEMENT LaunchAgents, LaunchDaemons and login items in one list, with counts for apps, items, enabled and disabled at the top. Disable what you do not need in one click, or all at once, for a faster boot and a quieter background. — HANDY TOOLS • Disk space analyzer — see what is really using your storage, folder by folder • File mover — relocate large files to another drive without hunting through Finder • Hardware info — the specs of the machine you are actually running on • Network speed test — check your connection without opening a browser — SAFE BY DESIGN • Everything is processed locally on your Mac — nothing is collected or uploaded • Items are moved to Trash first, so a cleanup is always recoverable • Built-in path safety checks never touch critical system directories • Items that cannot be removed are reported with a reason, never silently skipped — PERMISSIONS On first launch, Neatwise asks you to grant access to the folders it should scan (such as your Home folder) through the standard macOS open panel. Authorizations can be reviewed or revoked any time in Preferences → Permissions. — FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS Does Neatwise send my data anywhere? No. Scanning and cleaning run entirely on your Mac. Nothing about your files, your apps or your usage is collected or uploaded. Can I undo a cleanup? Yes. Items move to Trash rather than being deleted outright, so you can restore anything until you empty the Trash yourself. What is the difference between Recommended and Caution? Recommended items are safe to remove and are selected for you. Caution items — Trash, Downloads, installers — are left unchecked so you review them first. Why does Neatwise need folder access? To scan a folder, macOS requires the app to be granted access to it. Neatwise asks through the standard macOS open panel on first launch; you can revoke any authorization in Preferences → Permissions.
