Body woods and finishes • In Instrument Appearance, choose the body wood (mahogany, flame maple or swamp ash) separately from the finish. • Finishes: natural, solid color, or a 2- or 3-color sunburst in your own colors. • Lower the finish opacity to let the grain show through, and see the result in the 3D preview. Output jacks • Add an output jack, either a teardrop jack plate or a direct-mount jack, then move and rotate it like any other hardware. • Jacks appear on the plan, in printed templates and in the 3D preview. Ten of the built-in templates now start with one in place. Also new • Block and sharkfin fretboard inlays, and true-to-size cream binding, in the 3D preview. • Tap any pickup, pot, switch or jack to select it, whichever layer you're editing. • Fixed gaps in the 3D preview on headstocks with inward-curving edges. • Images shared from the 3D preview now carry a small "Designed with Axe Shaper" badge.

• Four new guitar templates: an Explorer-style, a PRS-style double-cut with a carved top, and two semi-hollow bodies (double-cut and single-cut). That brings the library to 12 guitar and 8 bass templates. • New neck joint controls for guitar and bass: choose bolt-on or set-neck construction, adjust the joint angle, and see whether the joint fits the body. • Neck placement can be edited on its own and reset to the template's original position. • Joint changes no longer reshape the body contour. • Updated instrument appearance settings with saved fretboard and headstock choices, shown in the 3D preview. • Fixed Tune-o-matic string routing and spacing at the tailpiece and bridge. • Many geometry fixes and improvements for more accurate templates and exports.

Arched tops in 3D preview Body designs can now show a carved archtop or contoured solid-body crown in the 3D preview, using the new "Arched Top" option in the Edge Profile picker. Pickups, pickguards, and controls automatically follow the curve, so the preview stays accurate for every body shape. This is a 3D preview enhancement — your 2D outline, routs, and print-ready drawings are unchanged. Also includes reliability improvements for file compatibility with the companion web app.

What's New in Axe Shaper 1.0.3 Controls Add pots and pickup selector switches (Gibson-style toggle or Fender-style blade) and drag them into place. Controls appear on printed 1:1 templates, and the built-in templates now include them. 3D preview Knobs and switches now appear in 3D, with a chrome top on knobs for Gibson-style guitars and basses. Lipstick pickups look like chrome tubes, and pole pieces line up with the strings. Fixed how beveled edges and binding look.

The 3D preview is rebuilt from the ground up. • New preview renderer. Photographic wood grain now wraps around the body edges at its true scale, finishes are mapped per surface, and the strings use real gauges — wound and plain strings render differently, right down to the windings on the tuner posts. Rounded fret wire, smoother pickup pole pieces, body binding, bridge hardware with individual saddles, and a string tree on Fender-style headstocks. • Neck and fingerboard appearance. Switch the preview between a natural maple or body-matched neck, and a maple or rosewood fingerboard. It's a viewing choice only: your design, drawings and file are untouched, and the preview keeps its current orbit and zoom when you change it. • Multi-selection by touch. A new Select Multiple mode lets you tap nodes to build a selection, then drag any one of them to move the whole group as a single undo step. With Apple Pencil, drag on empty canvas to marquee-select. • Layer-aware selection. Tapping a path selects the layer it belongs to, and node editing stays scoped to the active layer. • Fixed the fretboard width in the 3D neck. • Clearer neck preset names: Standard Scale (25.5"), Vintage Scale (24.75") and Short Scale (24"). This version requires iPadOS 18 as a consequence of moving to next generation RealityKit 3D engine.
