Have you ever backed up an image gallery from a blu-ray and it doesn't play properly in your media player of choice? Maybe playback skips around, or it plays all the images really fast?
Blu-ray backup utilities like MakeMKV can often struggle to make a clean MKV file from image gallery special features and the resulting file does not play back nicely in personal media servers.
Gallery To MKV takes a blu-ray image gallery MKV backup that was made by MakeMKV or a similar tool and converts into a proper chaptered slideshow MKV for use with your personal media server of choice. It extracts still images from the source video, assigns each image a fixed duration, writes chapter metadata, and encodes the result as a new Matroska video file.
How To Use:
1. Select your input MKV file by using "Choose Input".
2. Select your Output destination by using "Choose Output".
3. Set how long you would like each image to play for in the slideshow by editing the "Seconds Per Image" field. The default is 10 seconds per image.
4. Some media players can struggle with non-traditional frame rates such as 1/10 fps. Check the "Force 24 fps" option to generate a true 24 fps mkv file for better compatibility with these players. Otherwise, leave it unchecked for smaller and faster out.
5. Choose the video codec of the slideshow output, either H.264 or HEVC.
6. Click "Convert".
7. Once the file is complete, test playback in your player of choice.
NOTE: This application does not read or copy files from any copy protected medium, such as Blu-Ray or DVD Discs, and it does not attempt to bypass DRM. Users must provide their own DRM free personal media files to use with this application.
