Solspot Pro is here: one optional purchase, never a subscription. Everything you can use today stays free, including every light reading. Pro adds: • This spot through the year: when direct sun reaches the window, how the light changes month by month with your local weather, and the sun's path drawn over the view • Compare spots: which of your spots gets the most light • Grow-light planner: how close to hang a white lamp, checked with the camera, and how long to run it • What's wrong with my plant? The daily care reminder and "See it in your room" stay free for you, for good. For new users they are part of Pro. Also new, for everyone: plant names in Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Chinese, so searching in your own language finds the plant. "Export everything" now includes your photos. Fixed: • On the care screens, the light category showed in English in every language. • Cover photos were stored at three times the size they needed. The measurement engine has not changed, so your saved readings keep their categories.

200 plants, up from 100. The 100 new species were chosen for the spots the first hundred covered worst. A low-light spot now matches 58 plants instead of 30, and 51 plants are pet-safe instead of 28. Every plant's light needs are backed by two independent sources. 22 plants can now stand in your room, up from ten, among them the jade plant, fiddle-leaf fig, bird of paradise and ponytail palm. Eight of the 22 take direct sun. The Measure button now says what it is waiting for, "Lay the phone flat" or "Waiting for the light to settle", and fills as the phone gets flat. Fixed: - Aloe vera looked hollow from above in your room. - The ponytail palm and baby rubber plant photos showed the wrong plant. - 18 plants, among them the peace lily and both calatheas, cited another species' light guide. They now cite their own. - "New spot" did nothing when adding a plant. The measurement engine has not changed, so your saved readings keep their categories.

Made for iPhone Duo. On iPhone Duo, Solspot uses the big screen: a reading sits beside the plants that suit it, plant pages open in two columns, and Spots and Care show the list and the plant side by side. Hold it like a book or prop it up like a laptop and nothing important lands in the fold. Measuring on iPhone Duo uses the outer camera: close it and lay it flat where the plant will sit, outer screen up. The inner camera sits behind the display, so Solspot won't take a reading with it until that has been measured. On iPad in landscape you get the same two-column layouts. Also: clearer toolbar buttons in dark mode, and "How this works" on Measure is now a question-mark button. The measurement engine has not changed, so your saved readings keep their categories.

Care for the plants you own. A new Care tab: add your plants and Solspot works out how often to check each one from the light it measured at that spot, the pot and the season — not from a calendar. It says "check the soil" rather than "water", learns from what you find, and sends one reminder a day, at a time you choose, naming every plant due. History, notes, health and a photo for each plant, all kept on your phone, with JSON and CSV export in Settings. A clearer plant page: a larger photo that tells you whether the plant fits your spot and whether it is safe for pets, with Buy and In your room right underneath. Buy only offers a shop in your own country. Some links now earn Solspot a small commission at no cost to you, and the page says so wherever one does. Amazon: in the UK, Germany, France, Italy and Spain, Buy can now open your own country's Amazon store, in the Amazon app or Safari. Solspot earns a commission on those purchases, and says so next to the button. Shop links fixed: every shop is now searched in its own language, and a shop search that opened an empty page now works. Prices are gone: they could not be kept current, so none are shown. Also: fifteen plant names corrected in other languages, and better text contrast in dark mode. The measurement engine has not changed, so your saved readings keep their categories.

See it in your room. Solspot can now stand a 3D plant on your floor at the size the species actually reaches. Ten of the 100 species have models: Monstera, Snake plant, Peace lily, Pothos, Aloe vera, Boston fern, Areca palm, African violet, Arrowhead plant and Alocasia. Mature size is published as a range, not a single number, so the size slider spans the whole range and tells you which end you are looking at. Trailing species show trail length rather than height. Also: take a picture of the plant in your space to keep or share, an AR badge on the ten species' photos, and a new filter for plants with a 3D model. Measuring, matching and everything else is unchanged — the measurement engine has not moved, so your saved readings keep their categories.

Plant basics: the things that actually keep a houseplant alive. • Eleven short guides at the top of the Plants tab — light, watering, over- and underwatering, pots, leaves, pests, humidity, feeding, repotting, winter and pets. • Three cards each, about fifteen seconds. Tap to move on, hold to pause. • Honest about what doesn't work: misting for humidity, feeding a sick plant, watering on a schedule. • The pets guide opens straight into the plants the ASPCA lists as non-toxic. The measurement engine is unchanged, so your saved readings still mean exactly what they did before.

Buy links now work everywhere — and the list is shorter. • Fixed the shop links for Germany, the Netherlands and France. Several opened a dead page instead of the plant. • France now links to Truffaut and Plantes Pour Tous. • "Where to buy" shows the shops in your own country first. The rest are tucked behind one row instead of filling the screen. • Settings adds a privacy policy link, a help and contact link, and a way to rate the app. The measurement engine is unchanged, so your saved readings still mean exactly what they did before.
