TextPalette is a plain-text editor with a sidebar of one-click fixes — the tidy-ups you do by hand a dozen times a day, one button each. Type, paste, or drop a file, then reach for a transform. Select a passage and any fix stays inside your selection; otherwise it works the whole document.
Change case
UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case, and Sentence case — plus Code case (camelCase, PascalCase, snake_case, kebab-case, CONSTANT_CASE) and Remove accents.
Work on lines
Sort A→Z or Z→A, reverse, shuffle, remove duplicates, drop blank lines, join into one, or restyle a list as plain, bulleted, or numbered.
Tidy whitespace & punctuation
Trim trailing spaces, collapse runs of spaces or blank lines, convert tabs to spaces (or back) — and swap straight quotes for smart ones (or back), fix ellipses, and normalize dashes.
Preview Markdown
Markdown files get a Plain / Formatted / Diff switch. Formatted shows the rendered document right beside your text — headings, lists, tables, quotes, and code — updating as you type.
Find & replace
Match case on or off, step through hits, or replace them all — and pop the panel out into its own floating window with multiline fields when you need room.
Wrap in tags
Wrap each word, sentence, or paragraph in an opening and closing tag — the spacing between them left intact. Handy for HTML tags, Markdown, or quoting.
Generate filler
Drop in 1–9 words, sentences, or paragraphs of placeholder copy and insert, replace, or append it — generated on-device, no canned lorem ipsum.
Built for text
A file queue for working through several documents, an Open Recent menu, monospaced / sans-serif / serif fonts, adjustable text size, optional line numbers, and live word, character, and line counts. A menu-bar scratch pad is a keystroke away for a quick fix without leaving the app you're in. Your open files come back the next time you launch.
Native, fast, private
Pure Swift. No account, no cloud, no telemetry. It only ever touches the files you hand it, and writes only where you tell it to.
Localized into 10 languages
English, Deutsch, Español, Français, Italiano, 日本語, 한국어, Português (Brasil), Русский, 简体中文.
Ratings & Reviews
This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
• Save is ready as soon as a new, untitled document has text, and asks where to put it. Save As is for copying a file that's already saved.
• Save and Save As are now in the File menu, with ⌘S and ⇧⌘S.
• Line numbers no longer scroll up over the header, and an empty document shows a single 1 instead of two overlapping.
