A bar chart race is the animated chart you see on YouTube and TikTok: bars overtaking each other as the years run. This app makes them on your Mac, from a spreadsheet export you already have, and renders the file here — nothing is uploaded. WHAT IT DOES • Reads the files people actually have. Excel exports, semicolons, tabs, Windows line endings, European and US number formats. An empty cell means no reading yet, not zero — so a bar that has not entered the race looks different from one that is visibly losing it. • Three finished looks. Olympic medals on a dark ground, market caps on white for company logos, and a league points table in navy. Each one is a published chart, not a theme sampler. • Two shapes from one project. 16:9 for YouTube and 9:16 for Shorts, TikTok and Reels, both at full quality. The vertical cut keeps the edges clear of the platform's own interface. • Shows what it read, and lets you fix it. A table of the numbers exactly as the engine received them, editable one cell at a time. • Real frames, not a screen recording. Each frame is asked for and captured in turn, so the export is identical every time and at the full frame size — and the app stays usable while it renders. • 265 circle flags and your own photographs, fitted and cut to the circle. SHORT ON PURPOSE Words, figures, pace, the ground, and what colours the bars. There is no font picker and no way to take the look apart. What is on offer is a style that already works. RUNS OFFLINE, ENTIRELY The chart engine, four type families and every flag ship inside the app. Nothing is fetched, there is no account, and no data leaves your Mac. ONE FILE PER PROJECT .bcrace files are readable JSON with the photographs carried inside them. They have their own icon and open on a double click. THE MARK, AND HOW MANY BARS Every exported video carries a small mark in the corner, and a race runs ten bars. Both are unlocked inside the app, once and for good. Nothing is metered, nothing expires, and nothing asks you again.
