Time to Read: Book Club

Book Recommendations & Clubs

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Discover your next favorite book. Time to Read is a surprise book subscription on your phone: one sealed pick a month, ten books a day to swipe through, book clubs in your own town, and real readers who answer when you ask for a book recommendation. THE MONTHLY PICK Once a month, on the same day, one book arrives in the app, sealed. Open it and it comes with a note on why it is for you, from the Time to Read team. No shortlist to work through and no star ratings to second-guess. One book, chosen for you. TODAY'S BOOKS Ten books a day, one to a page. Swipe left to shelve it, swipe right to pass, swipe up if you have already read it. Every book comes with a line on why it is in your deck, and a new deck is dealt every night. The quickest way to find what to read next. BOOK CLUBS NEAR YOU Find a reading club in your own town, or start one. One book at a time, a meetup you can actually get to, and a group chat that cannot spoil the book: a message posted at 62% stays hidden until you reach 62% yourself. A club shows its city, never an address, until you are a member. ASK A REAL READER Describe what you are in the mood for, in your own words. Readers whose shelves overlap with yours answer, usually within the hour. Book recommendations from people, not from a bestseller list. READ MORE, SCROLL LESS Start a reading session and the apps you choose are put away until it ends. The screen shows the time left and nothing else. If you like, your own Spotify plays along: a crackling fireplace, rain or quiet piano, with pause and skip right on the timer. YOUR SHELVES Reading, Want to read and Read. Bring your books across from a public Goodreads shelf, scan a barcode, or photograph your bookshelf and the app reads the spines. AND THE SMALL THINGS A yearly reading goal, streaks, seals for the books you finish, friends, and a feed of what they are reading. The app is in English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish, Italian and Portuguese. SUBSCRIPTION Time to Read is a paid reading club, billed monthly or yearly. The yearly plan starts with a 7-day free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings. Music while you read. Pick a crackling fireplace, rain or quiet piano when you start a reading session, and your own Spotify plays along, with pause and skip right on the timer. Plus small fixes.
