Find now searches scanned pages. MegaPDF reads them on your device, and nothing leaves it. Plus various other fixes.

Open with MegaPDF MegaPDF is now a PDF viewer as far as your iPhone and iPad are concerned. A PDF in Files, an attachment in Mail, or a document in any app's share sheet can be opened in MegaPDF from right there, instead of only through Open PDF on MegaPDF's own first screen. If a document with unsaved changes is already open, it asks before switching. Share Share, in the More menu, hands the document to the share sheet: Mail, Messages, AirDrop, Save to Files, whatever you have. If the document has unsaved changes it says so first and offers Save, Share without saving — the last saved copy goes out and your edits stay open — or Cancel. Export as Markdown Export as Markdown, beside Save a copy in the More menu, writes the document's text — headings, paragraphs, lists and the values you filled in — as a Markdown file, saved wherever you choose in Files. It is an export, not a save: the PDF is untouched, and it still asks to be saved if you had changed it. A scanned page has no text to give, and the file says so in its place.

Redaction marks you can take back Whether something has to come out for good is a decision, and people change their minds. A mark can now be selected, moved, reshaped, and taken off again — Remove mark, the ×, or Clear all marks. Undo puts it back, Redo takes it away, and one drag is one step however many areas it marked. A mark no longer outlives the document it was made on. Close a file that still had marks on it and the next one opens clean. Until now those abandoned marks stayed armed, and the next save would have applied them without being asked. Redact, where you can find it Redact is a named row in the menu now, with an on/off state a screen reader reads out, rather than an unlabelled icon. Marking something that is meant to be gone for good should not be a guess. A pinch zooms Pinching the page zooms it, and while you are zoomed the page pans the way you would expect instead of fighting you. Signatures The library holds twenty and says so when it is full, rather than failing quietly. A signature whose image has gone is dropped from the list instead of being left behind as a broken thumbnail. Smaller things A save holds one copy of the document on disk instead of two. A page check can no longer be tangled by a second one, or by the document being closed while it runs.

Correct the document's own text Tap a line in the document and retype it. Wrong date, misspelled name, the wrong amount — you no longer have to cover it up and write beside it. MegaPDF keeps the line's own font where it can and tells you when it had to use a similar one, and Undo puts the original back exactly. If a change would disturb the rest of the page, it says so instead of quietly moving things. Redact, and it really is gone Mark what has to come out — a name, an address, a picture — and MegaPDF takes it out of the file rather than covering it over. What was underneath is gone: no other app can copy it or search for it. Protected PDFs Open a PDF that asks for a password. If its owner restricted what may be changed, MegaPDF respects that and tells you, and the owner password unlocks it. You can also set a password on a document, change it, or remove it. One row of tools The tools now sit in a single row along the bottom, where a thumb reaches them, and everything done to the file as a whole is under More at the top. It tells you what it is doing Opening, saving, checking the saved file, searching, checking a page, applying a change: each says so while it works, and repeat taps are ignored rather than queued. Anything quicker than half a second still says nothing at all. Very large PDFs A 2.5 GB, thousand-page file used to be out of reach. It now opens straight away and stays well inside what a phone can hold. Banner-size pages measure at their real size, and pages full of pictures draw several times faster. Smaller things Lines a document draws twice — the old trick for fake bold — now edit cleanly instead of leaving a ghost. Search reaches the match itself when the page is zoomed in, not just the page it is on.
