Where to stand, when to shoot

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Know where to stand, which way to face and when the light is right, at 236,420 photo spots in 193 countries. Pay once for a continent or the world. No subscription. Know where to stand for the photo, which way to point the camera, and when the light is right, at 236,420 photo spots in 193 countries and 52 territories. Open any spot and it answers three questions. WHERE TO STAND The exact position, precise to a few metres. Not the front door of the landmark, the place the shot works from. Where people have shot from a spot, you see how many images were taken from that exact position. Navigate walks you there inside the app, turn by turn. WHICH WAY TO FACE 146,523 spots carry a compass direction, so you know where to point the camera before you arrive. WHEN TO GO Golden hour and blue hour are worked out for the spot itself, today. The map draws where the sun rises and sets from that position, so you can see whether the light will be behind you. Close to a spot, Apple Weather shows whether golden hour will be clear. Peak months show when a place is at its best. EVERY ANGLE OF A LANDMARK Famous places come with every position around them, most shot first. 128 ways to shoot the Eiffel Tower, 30 for the walls of Dubrovnik, 12 for Neuschwanstein. CITIES AND LANDSCAPES Monuments, bridges, skylines and street corners, plus viewpoints, coastlines, mountains and waterfalls. Filter by what you want to shoot, from architecture and night to sunset, water and mountain. Spots mostly shot on phones are marked, so you know when you will not need a big camera. SCOUT BEFORE YOU GO Search any place on Earth and the map shows the spots around it. Pick a country and see which months its spots peak in. PLAN A PHOTO DAY Save spots and they line up as a route in the order of their best hour. Then walk it, one spot to the next. PAY ONCE Unlock one continent or the whole world. Each is a one-time purchase with no subscription, and you can upgrade from a continent to World at any time.
