Every pairing code in your home, encrypted and synced to your other devices, still there years later when you finally need it again. Throw away the paper labels. Every Matter accessory ships with a pairing code, printed on a sticker, the box, or the manual. You need that code again the day you factory-reset the accessory, move it to another home, or switch hubs — usually years later, long after the box went into recycling. Smart Home Codes keeps those codes for you. It reads your accessory list straight from the Home app, so there's no inventory to type by hand, and it cannot switch anything on or off. It is a record keeper, not a remote. Add a code by pointing the camera at the QR label or typing the digits in. Either way, the app checks the code as you enter it, because a mistyped code is worse than a missing one: it looks saved right up until the day it fails. Everything sensitive, the code itself, the QR payload, a serial number, a note, a photo of the label, is encrypted on your device before it's stored. The key lives in your keychain and reaches your other devices through iCloud Keychain. Nobody else can read it, including us. Codes sync through your own iCloud account, so a code you save on your iPhone is there on your iPad too. Accessories that sit behind a bridge get marked as having no code of their own, so a missing code in your list actually means something. Face ID locks the app the moment you leave it. It's in English, Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, and Japanese. Smart Home Codes is independent.
