REIMEI: Japanese Mythology
Japanese Myth & Scripture
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Study the Kojiki, Nihon Shoki, and sacred sutras with a scholarly reader, AI companion, and source-verified courses on Japan's traditions.
REIMEI is a scholarly companion for exploring the sacred texts, deities, and traditions of Japan — clear, accurate, and beautifully readable.
Study the Kojiki, Nihon Shoki, Heart Sutra, Diamond Sutra, Lotus Sutra, and norito prayers in an immersive serif reader with light and dark paper modes. Every passage carries a source-classification badge, so you always know what's primary source, tradition, folklore, or later scholarship.
Bookmark, copy, and share passages for offline reference, with per-chapter progress tracking so you can pick up exactly where you left off. A Daily Illumination widget brings a rotating passage to your home screen each morning.
Explore a kami encyclopedia covering major Shinto deities, their shrines, festivals, and the differences between Kojiki and Nihon Shoki accounts. An interactive sacred map charts shrines, temples, and pilgrimage routes across Japan alongside a historical timeline of religious development.
Go deeper with structured courses and quizzes on Shinto, Zen, Pure Land, Shingon, Tendai, Nichiren, and Shugendō — each tradition presented distinctly and accurately, without conflation. When questions arise, an AI study companion explains passages, defines terms, and offers historical context. It's always clearly labeled as AI-generated and never presented as doctrinal authority or invented scripture.
All personal data — bookmarks, progress, notes — stays on your device. No account required.
REIMEI is free to download with a generous preview of the library and courses. REIMEI Premium, available as a monthly or yearly subscription, unlocks the full text library, every course, and unlimited AI study support.
