METRO cards in Germany and France showed the red and white of Canada's Metro supermarket. They now show METRO's own blue card and logo, Metro in Canada has its own logo again, and existing cards fix themselves.

• Add a card with a photo: point the camera, press the shutter when the card is sharp, and check the card before you save. Save opens it right away • Beep reads the barcode, the store and a gift card's PIN from that one photo, and recognizes stores better • On iPhones with Apple Intelligence, the on-device model also reads a PIN with no label, like one under a scratch-off panel. Nothing leaves your iPhone • Set a gift card's expiry date right on its screen • Several cards from the same store show the last four digits of their number • Choosing a store is now its own page, with search

• Reminders 30 and 7 days before a card with an expiry date runs out. Already have dated cards? Clearer wording throughout the app, and more natural Dutch, German, French and Spanish translations.

Beep now speaks German, French and Spanish, and knows more than 200 new stores from Germany, France and Spain, logos included. If your iPhone is set to one of those regions, its stores come first. Also new: if Beep has earned a spot in your routine, it may now ask once for an App Store rating — only after you've shown a few barcodes at the checkout, never on top of a barcode, and at most once per version. Ratings help other people find a card wallet without accounts or ads.

A new, simpler app icon. Fewer bars, so Beep is easier to spot on your home screen and in Settings.
