Receive a capture from your iPhone, or measure over AirPlay or Bluetooth yourself. Frequency response, phase, waterfall, distortion, EQ — five views on one capture. See how your speakers really sound. Sweep is a full measurement instrument for your Mac. One dark window, five views, each answering a different question about the same capture — flip between them with a keystroke. FIVE VIEWS. FIVE QUESTIONS. • Overlay — What does it sound like? Frequency response, overlaid, every measurement in its own color from a palette of 20. Spatial averaging across seats, A-B difference traces, per-channel sweeps, absolute SPL, zoom into any octave. • Phase — When does it arrive? Wrapped phase and group delay from the same capture — are your drivers integrating, is the sub in step, is a crossover fighting itself? Polarity between two traces read out automatically, and arrival time when both used the same mic and output. • Waterfall — How does the room ring? Cumulative spectral decay: ridges running front-to-back are room modes still ringing after the signal stops. • Distortion — What is the speaker adding? Total harmonic distortion plus the H2 and H3 components, extracted from the same sweep — no second measurement needed. • EQ Design — How do I fix it? Drag parametric bands on the chart and watch the predicted curve move, or let Auto EQ design against a Harman, B&K, or custom target. Export to miniDSP biquads or REW filters. DON'T KNOW WHERE TO START? SWEEP DOES. On first launch, Sweep asks what you're tuning — say you've got a receiver with tone knobs, and a guided wizard measures for you, then hands back actual settings ("turn Bass to 3, Treble to -1") instead of a chart to interpret. Pick what you listen to — Warm, Bright, Bass-forward, and more — and the recommendation aims there, not just at flat. A plain-language results tour walks through what it found. Switch to the full analyzer any time; both read from the same library. BUILT FOR REAL GEAR • Measure over AirPlay or Bluetooth — no cable to your amp required. Sweep primes the connection and checks the capture actually came back complete before trusting it, so a wireless hiccup gets an honest retry, never a wrong answer plotted as real data. • Calibrated mic support — UMIK-1, UMIK-2, EARS, Dayton UMM-6 and iMM-6C, Behringer ECM8000, or any REW-style .cal file, each mic with its own. No mic to hand? The Mac's built-in mic genuinely works for tuning, with a stated low-end limit. • Per-channel sweeps (Left, Right, or Both), spatial averaging across positions, and A-B difference traces. • Import REW .txt measurements directly into your library. Export measurements as REW text, CSV, or FRD with phase; impulse responses as WAV; filter sets to REW or miniDSP text formats. • Receive a capture from your iPhone — pair once, and Sweep for iOS can hand a measurement straight to your Mac's library: device to device, encrypted, no internet, no cable. Turn it off any time in Settings. • Share your capture — a labeled image card, one click to copy or save. From Tune My Receiver, it carries your verdict and knob settings too. • Undo/redo, library export/import as a portable package, and keyboard shortcuts throughout. HONEST BY DESIGN Every trace is drawn at the level your mic recorded, solid only where its capture can honestly claim it. Below the measurement gate's limit, or past what the microphone can hear, it turns to a faint dashed line. Bass lingers and bounces, so down low the room is part of every measurement — what you see there is speaker plus room, not the speaker alone. PRIVATE BY DEFAULT Everything runs on your Mac. No account, no signup, no cloud, no tracking, no analytics SDK. Your library is a local file you can reveal in Finder. The only network use is Handoff: receiving a capture from a nearby iPhone you've approved, device to device, encrypted, no internet, no server. Free. No in-app purchases, no account, ever. Sweep is part of a family of focused instruments alongside a companion iPhone app, Pull, Grip, Lean, and Level.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

• 20 trace colors, picked from one scrolling row in the Trace tab. • Every new measurement is drawn at the level your mic actually recorded, on every chart. A louder speaker or setting now draws louder, averages and A − B differences follow suit, and Sweep on Mac and iPhone place the same measurement in the same spot. REW, CSV and FRD exports match what's on the chart. • Lines show how far they can be trusted: solid where the measurement is clean, dashed past its limits (below the measurement gate, or beyond what the mic can hear). The cursor gives a reading anywhere a line is drawn. • One calibration file per mic. Each measurement mic keeps its own file, and Sweep offers a matching file when you plug a mic in. • Set Your Levels plays its tone as loud as the measurement sweep, so the level you set is the level you measure. Earlier sweeps played about 4 dB quieter, so new measurements can sit a few dB higher than older ones. • Set Levels and Measure open at once, with the meter live right away. A short hint appears if the tone can't be heard, your Mac's volume is off, or a Bluetooth headset set as your Mac's input is slowing the mic. • Click the "≈" beside a reading to see why it's approximate. Approximate measurements can be lined up with an Offset nudge. • Tune My Receiver now stops if the sound is going to your Mac's own speakers, since it tunes your receiver's. • AirPlay and Bluetooth speakers are woken with a short, soft swell before the sweep. • A capture where the mic never heard the sweep is no longer kept, and Speaker Balance asks you to turn up the volume when it can't hear the tone. • Also: tour pins no longer overlap, the Smooth menu's checkmark follows your setting, and the window bar says so if your library can't be saved.
