Knock: for one person

One person on your Home Screen

Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

A little more room for words, and a wall that clears itself. Three notes per person every 15 minutes. One person free, encrypted end to end. Knock puts one person on your Home Screen. Their face sits among your apps, and you can see at a glance whether they're free and what time it is where they are. Tap it, and their phone buzzes once. That's the whole message: I was thinking of you. No feed, no inbox, no history. A knock happens and is gone. The only thing Knock keeps is how many days you have both shown up. NEW IN 1.4 A little more room for words. You can now leave three notes per person in a rolling 15 minutes. A wall that clears itself. Notes waiting to be seen expire seven days after sending. A new exchange clears waiting notes at least a day old, while fresh notes stay. A recovery fix keeps carried notes from disappearing during a profile refresh. One person is still free. No subscription. ALSO IN KNOCK A photo behind their face, with Pro. Pick one from your camera roll and it sits behind them, in the app and on the widget, for a day. Like an emoji or a drawing, either of you can take it down, and nothing is kept. Days together, and days in a row. The label under their face counts every day you both showed up, and it only ever grows. Under it, the days in a row, now forgiving of time zones: a knock at midnight in Paris meets the answer at dawn in Tokyo. With Pro, a broken run can be brought back once a month. Busy without saying so. After an hour with nothing knocked and nothing opened, your people see you as busy. It clears the moment you open Knock, and never over a status you chose. Busy also lives in Control Center now, and it can be your Action button. Asleep in your quiet hours. Inside the hours you set, your people see you asleep, a few z's drifting up from your face, unless you tell them otherwise. Opening Knock at night does not change that. A note brought back. A note that expired while you were away shows the hour it left. Tap it and it comes back for a quarter of an hour. Once a day, twice with Pro. Every emoji, in order. The full library is grouped the way your keyboard is. And the small things: words arrive with a little pop, a Language row in Settings, a knock never waits for the network, a photo still in iCloud is waited for, and your knock counts come back on a new phone. WHAT IT HAS ALWAYS DONE A longer knock says more, not louder. Keep your finger down and the words change; their widget stays lit for longer, in your colour. Their phone still buzzes exactly once, however long you hold. Behind their face, leave an emoji or a drawing. It shows on their Home Screen, fades within a day, and is then deleted from both phones. No album, no history. Set your status from five, and it clears itself. Set your quiet hours, and a knock inside them arrives silently; their face still lights up on your widget for when you look. One grace day a month, so a single missed day does not undo the days you have both shown up. PRIVATE BY CONSTRUCTION Encrypted end to end. Names, faces, statuses, notes and drawings are scrambled on your phone with a key only you and your person hold. Nobody else can read them, not even us. No accounts. Nothing to sign up for and nothing to close. Nobody can add you unless you say yes, there is no directory and no suggestions, and the only way in is a code someone hands you. No ads, no tracking, and no third-party code of any kind. WHAT IT COSTS Free for one person, with everything that matters. One payment, once, for up to eight people, every emoji, and the app icon in your colour. No subscription. Knock is made by one person. It is small on purpose, and nothing in it is built to keep you here.
