Lessons are now quick and easy to read. Every slide is a couple of short sentences in big, clear type, with the important new words lit up, and a friendly planet at the top shows how far through each topic you are. Same questions, same stars, same calm pace.

Cosmos has a new icon: a ringed planet, so it is easier to spot on your home screen. Everything inside works the same — same questions, same stars, same calm pace.

New — a proper welcome. Cosmos now opens with a short introduction: a space fact, one easy question, and a first star, so a child sees what the app is before anything is asked of anyone. It takes about a minute and it only appears before the app is unlocked. Changed — a clearer home screen. "Collect stars to light up the galaxy" now sits with the galaxy itself, and the grown-ups' area has moved to a single pill in the corner. Topics that need unlocking carry a small padlock, so a child can see what is waiting rather than being bounced to a purchase screen with no explanation. Changed — the grown-ups' area shows its work. Each topic opens in place to show total stars, questions attempted, correct answers, and the ones your child marked "I don't know yet" — the four figures a parent actually asked for. Also in this update: bigger, easier text on the learning slides, more room to breathe around the fun facts, and a warmer glow on every main button. A note on privacy. This version adds measurement to the grown-ups' area only — which screen was opened, which setting was changed, how a purchase ended. It is switched off for the whole of the children's app and switches on only once the parental gate has been solved. No advertising identifiers, no ads, and nothing that describes your child. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

New — the question map. "Take the quiz" now opens a map of the topic, with every question as a star on one climbing trail. Pick where to play, see the ones you have finished, and spot the ones worth another look. Questions open one at a time as you climb. New — weekly reminders. Cosmos can send three short reminders a week: a real space fact, a question to puzzle over, or a topic still waiting to be explored. They are scheduled on your device, nothing is tracked, and there is never anything to buy. A grown-up can switch them off any time in the parents area. Also in this update: quiz answers are spread evenly across all four options.
