One new board a day, the same for everyone. You see where the red dots will land before they arrive. Offline, with no ads, and you pay once.
Palon is a daily territory puzzle, a logic game played with dots on graph paper. You place blue dots and close fences around the red ones. Every move can be planned, and there is no timer.
Red dots arrive on a schedule. Each one is drawn on the board before it lands, with the number of turns until it falls. Your dots join in all eight directions, and a closed fence catches every red dot inside it.
A day lasts 12 turns, and you place one piece each turn. You score one point for each red dot you catch. If you build where a red dot would land, it never arrives.
There is one new board a day, the same for everyone, in three difficulties. Easy shows the arrivals five turns ahead, standard three and hard two. A red dot you have not been shown yet never stops you from placing a piece.
The computer plays every board before you see it. A board with too little to catch is thrown out and dealt again.
The piece in your hand changes through the week: two dots, a corner of three, a line of three or a T of four. Saturday mixes every shape. On Sunday the red dots arrive two at a time.
The app does the counting. Before you press Place, it shows how many red dots that move would catch, and it keeps a running total. There is a short tutorial, and you can skip it.
Every past day back to No. 1 can be played. Each finished day adds a picture to your collection.
Two people can also play a duel on one phone, with the classic two-player rules. You pass the phone after each move, and the second player needs nothing installed. There are three board sizes, from 11 by 8 to 17 by 12.
When you play the duel alone, the computer takes the other side at one of three strengths.
The light and dark themes are both checked for contrast. Your dots and the red dots differ in shape as well as in color, so nothing depends on telling red from blue.
There are no ads and no in-app purchases. Palon needs no account and works offline. You pay once.
The rules come from Točki, a pen-and-paper game played in the back of school exercise books. Palon is the Belarusian word for captivity.

Palon opens on a new launch screen. Sharing from an iPad no longer closes Palon. Some text in the app is shorter and clearer.
