Alert someone you trust, with your location. During a recording, a new location button lets you send your last known position to your emergency contacts by text and email. You tap Send yourself, so nothing goes out without you. Witness Pro: • Highlight export: get a shorter cut of your video with the quiet dead air trimmed out, in addition to the full recording. • The visible timestamp and location on your video now sit upright and neatly in the corner. They were upside down and too large before. Sorry for that. Also new: • If camera or microphone access was turned off, Start Recording now takes you straight to Settings to turn it on. • You can add an emergency contact with just a phone number. • Step-by-step Action Button setup in Settings. • Many more screens are now translated. • Fixed the picture-in-picture view hiding behind the main camera after swapping views.

Elapsed-recording timer in the viewfinder Two new Pro features: visible timestamp/GPS burn-in, and picture-in-picture dual-camera export Home-screen viewfinder toggle (off by default, resets every launch for safety) + main/selfie view swap while dual-camera filming Fixed a z-order bug where swapping main view let the new main camera visually cover the picture-in-picture inset instead of sitting under it Onboarding's welcome page now shows the app's own logo instead of a generic icon Pro upsell prompt (in-app only, never a push notification) on launch 2 and 20, explicitly stating the free app stays fully free either way

If Witness closes while you're recording — force-quit, the screen locking, the battery dying — the recording finishes and saves right away now. Not the next time you open the app: immediately. Nextcloud support: sign in to your own Nextcloud server directly from Witness, no separate app or account needed. The front camera stays right-side up now, whichever way you're holding the phone, and the viewfinder always shows exactly what's being filmed — it no longer crops in or adds black bars as you rotate. Also in this version: • Turn cloud upload off for your next recordings without touching what's already uploading — nothing already in progress can ever be stopped from the phone. • A warning when your storage account is nearly full, before you start recording rather than after. • Google Drive explains what went wrong when it can't create a folder, instead of retrying silently forever. • Your own footage is reachable directly from the Files app. • A new question-mark icon on the main screen for "where did my recording go?" — plain answers, and a Files-app fallback for anyone who thinks they've lost one. Fixed: keeping cloud upload and on-device backup both switched off could leave a recording with nowhere to go.

Fixes a crash that could close the app while it was uploading. If it happened to you, nothing was lost, pieces stay on your phone until your storage confirms them, and the queue resumes where it stopped. Recording now follows how you are holding the phone. Filming with it held horizontally produced footage lying on its side; it comes out the right way up now, on both cameras. Uploads say more when something is wrong. If your cloud storage refuses the folder, the app tells you what the server said instead of retrying quietly forever, and a piece that has not been tried yet no longer describes itself as retrying. Long recordings stay lighter. Keeping track of the upload queue used to get slower the more you recorded; it no longer does. Also: the front camera comes back on its own once the Witness Pro capture settings allow both cameras again, and setting up WebDAV explains that Nextcloud needs an app password rather than your account password.

Uploads, made visible. Tap the upload count on the main screen to see the queue itself: every piece still on the phone, how large it is, and how far the one in flight has got. It also shows what has already reached your storage, so after a recording you can tell what is safe rather than assuming. Pieces now upload one at a time instead of all at once. The connection is the limit either way, but taken in order each piece finishes — where before, a dozen crawled together and none of them landed. When the network is struggling, the small preview copies go up first, without waiting behind the full file they stand in for. Also in this version: • Witness Pro is now available as a one-time purchase as well as monthly. • 4K tells you the upload speed it actually needs, so the choice between quality and getting footage out is yours to make with the number in front of you. • Fixed: the front camera stayed off after switching a Pro capture setting back to a value that allows both cameras. • Fixed: a crash that could end a recording session if a file finished uploading while another upload was being prepared.

New cloud storage options available and a new Witness Pro section for professionals looking to use Witness for their filmmaking or journalistic work.

Fixed upload bugs and improved logging of files on Google Drive.
