BookTap: Learn Languages
Language learning with stories
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Learn by reading, not drilling. 116 original stories, A1 to C1: tap a word for its meaning, hear every sentence, watch your flashcards build themselves. First book free.
Learn Italian, English or Turkish by reading real stories, the way vocabulary actually sticks.
BookTap is a language learning app built around one habit: read a book, tap any word you don't know, and the meaning appears right there on the page. You keep reading. Every word you tap becomes a flashcard, and later the app quizzes you on your own words. No lessons, no drills, no streak guilt: just books that get harder as you get better.
YOUR FIRST BOOK IS FREE
Cover to cover, nothing held back. No account, no email, no ads. Open the app and start reading.
THE DICTIONARY COMES TO YOU
A tapped word shows its dictionary form, its meaning in this sentence, and a play button to hear it. The words you look up gather at the foot of the page, so you never leave the story.
LOST A LINE? HOLD THE SENTENCE
Press and hold any sentence to see it in your language, then hear it read aloud. You can also listen to the whole page; the pages turn by themselves while it reads.
YOUR DECK BUILDS ITSELF
Every word you tap becomes a card. Zero setup. Later BookTap tests you on your words only, with questions taken straight from the book you read: what the word means, and which word completes the sentence. What you know moves further out; what you miss comes back sooner.
116 ORIGINAL BOOKS, A1 TO C1
285 chapters written for learners, in Italian and in English, across five levels: A1 · 29, A2 · 30, B1 · 25, B2 · 16, C1 · 16. Start easy and let the books grow with you. Finish one and the next is waiting on your shelf.
THREE LANGUAGES
Speak English? Read Italian or Turkish. Speak Italian or Turkish? Read English. The app itself, menus, cards and questions included, speaks your language.
IT BEHAVES LIKE A BOOK
Real page-turns with the sound of paper. Sepia, light and dark. Your type size, line spacing and page layout. Where you stopped, how far you have read and how many days in a row: all remembered.
WORKS OFFLINE
The books live inside the app. On a plane, on the metro, in a house with no signal: it reads the same.
HOW IT WORKS
The first book is free in full. Every other book opens with BookTap Pro, a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription; the 7-day free trial applies to the yearly plan only. Payment is charged to your Apple account, the subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can cancel any time in your App Store settings.
