Evensong: Journal & Diary
Private gratitude & mood log
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
Now available in Chinese, with up to 10 photos per entry and faster iCloud sync. Free to journal, forever. Premium adds themes and PDF export for $0.99/mo.
Evensong is free to download and use, with an optional Premium upgrade for more themes and PDF export.
Evensong asks you six short questions at the end of the day. That is the whole app.
A gentle reminder at whatever time works for you, six honest prompts, and a couple of quiet minutes is all it takes to build a real journaling habit - one you'll actually keep.
"On This Day" surfaces what you wrote a year ago, so your reflections start talking to each other over time. A Weekly Review pulls your week together. Fuzzy search finds any entry, typos and all.
Add a photo - and a location - to anchor any entry to a place and moment. Keep a daily streak going, with a little celebration when you hit a milestone.
Your entries back up to your own private iCloud account, so a new phone or a reinstall doesn't mean starting over. We never see your data - it's yours, in your own iCloud, and nowhere else.
Evensong Premium ($0.99/month or $9.99/year) unlocks 8 additional visual themes - from warm, cozy palettes to real photo backdrops - plus PDF export for any date range, to print or share. Already bought Evensong before the switch to free? You keep full access to everything, free, forever.
No ads. No tracking. No account required. Just a private place to put your day down before you close it.

Evensong now works fully in Chinese, including the six nightly prompts, notifications, the paywall, and PDF exports.
You can add up to 10 photos per entry now instead of just one. Multi-photo entries print as a photo collage when you export to PDF.
iCloud sync has been rebuilt to be faster and more reliable. It now pulls only what changed and correctly handles entries deleted on another device.
New ways to move through your journal: swipe left or right on an entry to jump to the next or previous day, and History now browses month by month with a clear heading and arrows instead of one long list.
A new button in the header gives you quick access to Insights from Home, History, and Reflect.
Every date picker in the app (date jump, Export, Insights) is now a calendar instead of a spinning wheel.
Also in this update: fixed a rare blank page that could appear in long PDF exports, photo collages in PDF exports no longer crop unusual photo shapes, paywall pricing now always matches your actual store price and region, clearer messaging when an export range has no entries or notifications are denied, and the week headers on the premium photo themes now read directly over the photo instead of sitting on a plain color block.
