A label, a distributor, or a collaborator asks where a sample came from. Ohms Proof has the answer ready as one folder: the exact audio file, its SHA-256 fingerprint, the receipt, the license, and every project that used it.
It is built for producers who buy packs and loops for years and get asked about them later.
Bring in a sample and its paperwork
Choose the exact audio files, then attach the provider license, the purchase receipt, a provider export, images, or text files. Add a source reference, notes, and the projects the sample went into. Ohms Proof copies everything into its own library and checks each copy against the original before accepting it. Your sample folders are never moved, renamed, or edited.
Know the exact file
Every sample gets a SHA-256 hash alongside its filename, byte size, duration, sample rate, and channel count. Try to add a file that is already in your library and Ohms Proof names the record that holds it. A bounced, trimmed, or pitched version is a different file with a different hash, and is treated as one. Search finds a record by title, provider, filename, or the first characters of a hash.
See what is missing
Each record is checked for four things: a source, a license, purchase evidence, and project use. The Needs evidence list gathers every record with a gap, across the whole library, so you can fill it in before anyone asks.
Export a packet that checks itself
An export writes a folder wherever you choose: audio, evidence, a README, a PDF summary with selectable hashes, and a manifest.json listing the role, size, and SHA-256 of every file. Before the export reports success, every copied file is re-hashed against that manifest; if anything does not match, the folder is removed. Each export leaves a receipt in Export history carrying the manifest's own hash.
Check a packet later
Open any packet Ohms Proof exported and it re-hashes every file against the packet's manifest, names any file that no longer matches, and flags files added since export. On the Mac that made the packet, the manifest itself is also matched against its receipt in Export history, and receipts stay even after you remove the record.
The library lives on this Mac, inside the app's own container, and nothing is uploaded; packets go only where you save them. If the library ever cannot be read, Ohms Proof stops writing rather than starting over with an empty one. Export the records you want to keep outside the app.
Ohms Proof keeps what you give it. It does not decide whether a sample is cleared, read a license for you, predict copyright claims, file disputes, or give legal advice.

If you exported an evidence packet to a location that already held an item, such as a link to a folder that no longer exists, a failed export could delete that item. Export now stops with an error instead of touching anything already there, and a failed export removes only the folder Ohms Proof created. Verify Evidence Packet now says what a match proves: without your export receipt, the files agree with the packet's own manifest; with the receipt, they are the exact bytes Ohms Proof exported.
