LaiLai is you. Taotao is your cat. Your cat keeps pace while you work, then steps out of the tomato den when it’s time for a real break.
LaiLai is you, and Taotao is your cat—the companion who keeps pace with your focus timer and calls you away from the screen when it is time to rest.
Some days, LaiLai sits down at the Mac and loses track of time. Taotao lives in a little tomato den: when you begin working, your cat keeps pace; when it is time to stop, Taotao steps out and waits for you to leave the chair behind.
LaiLai Pomodoro is more than a timer that rings. After you turn on Automatic Care, sustained physical keyboard or mouse use can trigger a cancellable automatic start. Long periods without physical input pause the timer. When you return from an automatic pause, you can continue the same focus session; a pause you started yourself is never overridden.
How Taotao helps:
• Keeps up automatically: Begin working without having to remember the timer every time.
• Makes breaks real: At the end of a focus session, Taotao uses a full-screen reminder to invite you away from the display. A break begins when you choose “Take a Break with Taotao,” lock the Mac, let it sleep, or leave the current session.
• Protects meetings: Keep an active focus session running while preventing a new automatic session or full-screen break reminder.
• Keeps status visible: See what is happening, why, and what you can do next in the main window, notch status island, or menu bar.
• Saves a reflection: Review daily focus time and leave a short note after a break.
Timing, not your content:
Automatic Care reads only how long it has been since the last physical keyboard or mouse input. It does not record keystrokes, window titles, or screen contents. Focus records and break reflections stay on your Mac.
Optional posture, proximity, and gaze reminders use the camera only after you turn them on. Frames are analyzed on your Mac, without recording or uploading. Your comfortable baseline and calibration values stay on the device. Turning reminders off stops the camera.
Taotao does not scold you or use streaks to push you. Your cat is simply there to say, gently but firmly: you have worked long enough—let’s take a break.
Available in Simplified Chinese and English.
Requires macOS 14 or later.
