Speed Monitor: NetPulse
Is it you or your provider?
Only for Mac

Mac
A speed test tells you how fast your connection is in the ten seconds you run it.
It says nothing about the other 86,390 seconds of the day. NetPulse watches all of them.
Something is slow. Is it your Wi-Fi, your router, or your provider?
NetPulse answers that question, and it answers it the honest way: by measuring your own router and the outside world in the same batch, once a second, so the two can actually be compared. When your router replies fine and the internet does not, the problem is not inside your home — and now you can say so.
IN YOUR MENU BAR
A dot or signal bars, with latency and packet loss. The indicator keeps its place as the number changes, so it never pulls your eye.
YOUR SIDE OF THE ROUTER
Wi-Fi signal, generation, band and channel, and the speed your Mac actually negotiated with the router. On Ethernet, whether the cable is linked and at what speed. Add your NAS, your printer, another access point.
WHAT IS USING THE NETWORK
Live upload and download, plus a per-app breakdown. Most "the internet is slow" turns out to be something downloading.
A HISTORY YOU CAN ACT ON
Not a lifetime average. Every interruption is recorded with the time it started and how long it lasted — because "0.08% packet loss" reads exactly the same whether you lost one packet an hour or the connection died for two minutes.
Instead of a mean round-trip time, which one four-second spike can drag anywhere, you get the median, the 95th percentile, and the single worst reply with the time it happened.
PROOF YOU CAN SEND
Export a plain-text report with every interruption, its start time and duration, the method spelled out, and an honest note on what the numbers do not prove. Paste it into a support ticket.
ALERTS THAT DO NOT NAG
One notification when a real outage starts, one when it ends. Never one per dropped packet. No sound, and it will not wake a sleeping Mac. Off by default, and you choose how long an outage has to last before it is worth telling you about.
IT DOES NOT GUESS
Some routers answer pings about themselves slowly while forwarding real traffic perfectly. Some addresses rate-limit pings. When the evidence cannot support a verdict, the app says "no data" instead of painting your network red.
NO ACCOUNT, NO ANALYTICS, NO SERVERS OF OURS
The only lookup that leaves your Mac is your public address, it is optional, and it can be turned off in Settings.
Requires macOS 15 or later.
