WHAT IT DOES
Coin scanner, both sides
Photograph the obverse and the reverse. The date, mint mark and design all sit on different faces, and a coin cannot be identified honestly from one of them.
A value range, not a fake price
Every result shows a low and a high, a confidence level, and a short "why" — what the estimate is based on. Coin prices genuinely move with condition and demand. Anything that gives you one exact number is guessing on your behalf.
Condition, on a ladder
See where your coin sits on the grading scale, and what the next rung would be worth. Grading is where most of the value lives, so it is shown as a scale rather than a verdict.
Known errors to check
For your exact date and mint, the documented error coins collectors look for, where to look, and whether your photo can tell. We never call a coin an error from a photo.
Ask about your coin
Got a follow-up? Ask it in plain language and get an answer about the coin you just scanned — the die variety, the mint mark, why the range is wide.
Spot price, live
Live metal prices per gram, so you can work out melt value yourself. It is the one number here that is not an estimate, and it is labelled that way.
Your collection
Save what you scan into a wooden display tray. Search it, undo a mistake, share a coin or the whole tray as an image.
Organize coins into your own collections — an inherited set, a jar, a series — and keep notes on each coin.

Photograph up to 20 in a row and we sort them: worth grading, worth a closer look, and the ones that are probably just change. We say it plainly.
When a scan will not work
Blurry, too dark, or not a coin — you get told which, your photo is kept, and retrying does not cost you a scan.

This app was built because coin apps have a reputation for surprise charges.
• The free trial is the option already selected — not the paid plan.
• The exact date and the exact amount you would be charged are printed above the button, before you tap it.
• The trial reminder is switched ON by default.
• Closing the paywall costs nothing. No countdown on the close button.
• Cancel in one tap from Settings.
• Coins you have saved stay yours whether you subscribe or not.
WHAT IT IS NOT
CoinTrue is an identification and estimation tool, not a professional appraisal, and not a certification service. For an authoritative grade or a sale, use a recognised grading service. Estimates are guidance, not an offer to buy.

Scanning is part of CoinTrue Premium, together with the full condition ladder and unlimited questions. Start with a free trial — nothing is charged today, and coins you save stay readable whether you subscribe or not.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the period ends. You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings after purchase. Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when a subscription is purchased.
