The Knights of Light, Halvren's guard from beyond the city gate, swear themselves to your guild. Past floor 400 enemies hit hard again, aging becomes Prime, and the mercenary detail screen is rebuilt. [Knights of Light] - The guard that held Halvren's outer gate swears an oath together at your gate. A knight and a warrior take the front, with a priest, archer, mage and alchemist behind - Sold only as the bundle at the top of the shop's Heroes tab. It includes every knight and the full Knights of Light world theme pack - Knights who remain human keep their oath: they do not age or retire. Awakening in the Abyss turns the oath off, and cleansing the mark turns it back on - The Oath of Light synergy lifts the first ally to fall in each battle back to their feet. With four, Knight Formation shields the whole party and Oswin takes even more hits for others - Plus 2 more in the patch notes [The Late Climb Bites Again] - From floor 400, enemies cut deeper through your defense. As gear piled up, an enemy hit had fallen below 1% of a mercenary's HP. Enemy HP is unchanged, so battles do not drag on - Existing guilds play exactly as before up to the highest floor cleared when you first open this update. Above it, the new rule eases in - Parties with a real front line now outlast all-damage lineups [Prime Replaces Aging] - Stats start to fall based on years since a mercenary joined, not their age. The Taoist heals more. Party prep now shows the total of your active synergies, and Auto-equip finishes fast even with a big roster and stash. [Battle and Party] - The Taoist's Grand Purity Talisman now heals all allies for 75% of attack, up from 70% - The top of party prep and the Party Synergy sheet shows the total of your active synergies for attack, HP and defense, measured over the whole party's combined stats - Party prep on Abyss floors adds a line with the number of regular members without a brand. Their potential stops at 110 (114 with the perk), and they get no Abyssal damage reduction [Auto-equip] - Auto-equip took close to 30 seconds in saves with many members and a large stash. It now takes about a second and picks the same gear as before - Auto-equip from Next up on the Base now looks after your party first. Bench members no longer take gear from party members [Description Fixes] - Yeoncheong's Sealing Talisman now matches what it does. It heals all allies and hits the enemy with the highest attack. Members who stay long enough become lifelong companions and never leave. The Elixir of Youth turns back an aging member's age, and you can now call back named heroes you lost. [Lifelong Companions] - Every member has five trust steps. They fill as you head out together, and the member's detail screen shows what each step means and what comes next - At four steps the member asks a favor, such as beating a boss at or above a given floor together or saving a comrade on the brink. Favors are finished in tower battles - Finishing the favor fills the fifth step and makes them a lifelong companion. Lifelong companions never retire. They still age, and they leave if their morale hits bottom - When a free named hero with three or more trust steps retires, a Letter from an Old Comrade arrives two seasons later. Beat a boss at or above the floor in the letter and they return as they were when they left [Elixir of Youth] - Use the elixir from the detail screen of a member who has started to age. Each bottle takes five years off their age and restores the strength aging took in that time - Each person can take two bottles in a lifetime, and you can use four a year. You can hold up to three - The first time you beat the boss on every 100th floor, you receive one bottle - With an alchemist on the roster, an Alchemy Table appears in the forge. Base and tower departure now show your party's fatigue as numbers, and you can rest tired members right there. Damaged saves are restored from the previous copy instead of being overwritten. [Fatigue at a Glance] - Each face in This Week’s Party on the Base shows its fatigue. Fatigue starts trimming attack and speed at 40, so the number shows from there - When anyone is overworked, the party header shows Rest N overworked. Tap it to assign rest to everyone but the injured and those away on an expedition - Right above the tower Depart button, one line shows how much fatigue cuts your party's attack and speed, and Rest assigns rest on the spot - Resting members keep their place in the lineup and still go on this expedition. Their fatigue drops when the week ends - Ready N/6 now leaves out only the injured. Tired members can still deploy [Changed] - Mercenaries who leave by dismissal, retirement or low morale return their weapon, armor and relic to the Stash. The confirmation window says so too - Exploration events now change with each expedition. Within one expedition they stay the same even after a restart - A member who fell on an earlier floor and sat out the next battle no longer gains that battle's experience or fatigue - A week where the party went to floor 1 and came straight back without fighting counts as a week with no expedition. Rear Duty gold and retirement promises follow the same rule - Return on the scouting and floor result screens now asks once. It does not ask when returning is the only way left - Power now counts lifesteal, so Auto-equip all no longer strips lifesteal gear - The Frost mutation now delays every ally's first action as described. Until now it did nothing to races that start with an empty gauge - On Blind Eye floors, the scouting card hides hidden enemies' affixes behind "?" - Plus 2 more in the patch notes [Save Protection] - Every save keeps one previous copy. If a save file is damaged, the game restores it from that copy - A save that cannot be restored shows as Unreadable save on the title screen and is never overwritten. Turn an iPad or tablet sideways and every screen spreads across the full width, and the game now speaks French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese and Russian. After turning, the screen you were on and what you picked stay as they were - If you already bought the game, the same account gets it on an iPad or tablet at no extra cost. Clearing a chapter boss for the first time opens a gate camp where you keep an expedition photo, and members who fight side by side now build trust and memories. From floor 101, each zone carries a trait you switch off with your lineup and specialties, and new named heroes arrive through Bond Quests and the Shop. [Gate Camp and Expedition Photos] - From floor 100, a chapter boss stands every 50 floors. The first time you beat one, a gate camp opens after the victory scene. It opens only on tower climbs, once per chapter - At the camp, pick one of four expedition photos of the members who fought that battle and tap Hang on the Wall. Shots of a pair of partners or of the member who felled the boss show up as candidates - The photo you pick hangs in a frame on the back wall of the lounge dining hall. Zoom in on the dining hall and tap the frame to browse past photos in the album - Plus 4 more in the patch notes [Trust and Shared Memories] - Trust builds between you and each member. It fills when they go on expeditions or take Rear Duty, and a bit more comes the first time each week you tap them in the lounge - Trust shows as shield slots in the lounge speech bubble. A member with all five slots filled keeps their will through an ordinary year - Two members who fight together keep memories of it. The game picks them out of battle, such as pulling each other through a crisis or crossing a gate side by side - Plus 6 more in the patch notes [Zone Traits and Specialties] - From floor 101, the tower splits into zones of 10 floors, and each zone carries one trait. Veil makes enemies dodge more often, Split makes fallen enemies break in two, and each trait changes the fight its own way - Each trait has answer classes. A member of an answer class fills one slot, and two filled slots switch the trait off. With one slot filled, the trait works at half strength - An active trait also raises enemy attack and HP. The Rough Road has two traits in each remaining zone, and one slot per trait switches it off. Every battle ends within 3 minutes. The game runs on a new engine that puts far less load on your device, and your members now spend their days in a lounge at the Base. The Forge sorts your Stash for you. [Battles End Within 3 Minutes] - Every battle ends within 3 minutes. If neither side wins by then, the battle ends in Time Up and your party withdraws - Nobody dies in a Time Up. Fallen members come back with injuries only, and the HP they lost in that battle stays lost - After a Time Up the floor counts as not cleared and the party returns to the Base. The top card shows the one thing to do now - The top card picks, in order, a perk you can open, a member ready for a rite, or a place to spend shards. Attack animations play again after the 1.18.0 update froze them. [Fixed] - In 1.18.0, mercenaries and named heroes held one pose while attacking and only slid across the field. Every attack now plays its full animation - Rien and Irena kept their old look after a breakthrough. They now change to their breakthrough look

Party setup has a new layout and your company can grow to 20 members. We fixed the app crashing in long high-floor battles and added a saver mode that tones down effects when the device runs hot. [Party Setup] - The party sheet has a new layout. Only the list scrolls, and the members you pick stay in fixed slots at the bottom - Tap a bottom slot to move that member to the other row or take them out - Card portraits are cropped around the face and drawn larger. A corner chip shows the grade, and an icon under the name shows the most urgent status - Tap a card to pick it, or press and hold to open its details - Plus 2 more in the patch notes [Company Size] - The base roster limit is now 12. Saves with the Roster Expansion perk go straight to 16 - A new Company Expansion perk in the Guild branch of Abyss Perks raises the limit to 20 [New Heroes Irena and Rien] - Irena von Strahl is the Emperor's champion duelist, a paid hero from the shop. Her signature skill, The Hundredth Duel, stabs one enemy three times, and the last thrust is a critical hit - Rien Silvas is an elf bard who has left a song on every floor of the Tower. Six new classes join your company, and Aldric and Mukran have new breakthrough looks. [Six New Classes] - Berserker (human) cleaves the front line with a two-handed axe. The signature skill, Blood Frenzy, hits harder the more wounded the berserker is - Lancer (human) drives a long spear through the enemy in front and into the one behind. It is the only front-line class whose skill reaches the back row - Bard (elf) plays a lute from the back row, raising every ally's attack and clearing corrosion - Alchemist (human) hurls acid flasks at every enemy and wears down the armor of those hit - Reaper (beastkin) sweeps the front row with a long scythe and finishes off the weakest enemy - Blacksmith (dwarf) hammers an anvil on the front line to raise every ally's defense - Each class has one signature skill and two variant skills that differ per mercenary, and every skill has its own effect art - They appear among recruit offers, and the codex class list now shows sixteen. After their personal trials, each class wears its own breakthrough look; bards and blacksmiths take Guard Focus, the other four Firepower Focus [Aldric and Mukran's Breakthrough Looks] - Their breakthrough looks barely differed from their base looks, so we redrew them. The illustration, battle sprite and attack animation all change - Aldric, true to "The Crown Raised Again", wears an ermine coronation mantle and lion pauldrons, with a gleaming longsword and shield - Mukran keeps her gold-embroidered robes and adds a crown of black-violet orchids, ribbons of violet poison and a gold orchid sash - Both now have their own effect art for their signature skills. Restoring your purchases is now more reliable. [Fixed] - If the store briefly failed to respond when you opened the app or tapped Restore Purchases, items you own could appear missing. The game now checks each item with the store before removing anything - A refunded paid hero could still be chosen for the awakening ritual - A departed paid hero could appear twice if a reincarnation and a recruit offer overlapped [Changed] - Tapping Open on an App Store event now takes you straight to the shop

The shop is open. It offers optional tips, a world theme pack, and two paid heroes. One purchase still takes you to the floor 999 ending, and there are no ads. [Shop] - Open the shop from the fourth tab on the Base screen or by tapping the emblem in the top bar - Tips come in three tiers. They change only your nameplate color and title and have no effect on the game - Every item is a one-time purchase you keep. After reinstalling or changing devices, use Restore Purchases in Settings - The web demo has no shop [Paid heroes Aldric and Mukran] - Aldric Halvren is the last king of Halvren, the kingdom sealed at the Tower's gate. A human knight, he holds the front line and tends to wounded allies - Mukran is the last head of the Black Orchid poison sect of the bamboo forest. A leopard beastkin rogue, her poisoned needle spreads to nearby foes - Each joins right after purchase with an introduction scene and unlocks their story. They start at your company's current strength and grow with you - Both have a unique skill, personal trial lines and a breakthrough look. Idle members finally have work to do: the second and third squads of the Boss Hunt, the relief squad on expeditions, and rear missions at the base. Battles look better with hand drawn skills and new stages. [Boss Hunt] - The weekly raid is now the Boss Hunt. Three squads take on the same boss in turn. Boss HP does not recover between squads, so what the second and third squads chip off lets you clear higher tiers - Each squad holds up to five. "Auto formation" tries three line ups (by power, by role, named heroes together) in a practice run and picks the best - Tiers run from 1 to 99. Tier N fights like floor N×10. You get three attempts a week - Plus 4 more in the patch notes [Relief squad] - You can bring one relief member on an expedition. Abyss perks raise that to three - Use "Relief" on the after battle screen to swap one party member with the relief squad. A member who was knocked down and injured can be swapped too. Whoever steps out can't rejoin that expedition - A week spent as relief counts as deployment [Rear missions] - Send up to three members who aren't deploying on missions. Escort earns gold, Abyss patrol earns shards, and salvage earns embers - Output is measured against the average power of your main party. Members on a mission don't count as idle, but a retirement promise is only kept by deploying - The base's weekly glance and the weekly report show mission income [Ambitions and mastery legacy] - Set one ambition in the Records tab. There are eight, and they nudge you toward line ups you don't usually run: three long rested members on a floor lord clear, four of one race, no healer, no named heroes, escorting rookies, everyone comes home, using up the relief squad, and all three Hunt squads fighting - Achieving one grants gold, reputation, and a title. Failing costs nothing and there's no deadline. Floors below half your best floor don't count - A retiring member passes half the gold invested in their mastery to one successor. Skill names and the floor plate in battle no longer get cut off. [Fixed] - Long skill names that sweep across the screen when a signature skill fires were cut off. They now wrap onto two lines - The floor plate at the top left of the battle screen was cut off in English and Japanese - After you clear a floor lord for the first time, the game may occasionally ask for a store rating. It won't ask often

Every named hero now has a signature skill, and abyssal awakening can be undone. The base tells you what unlocks next, and battles stutter less. [Signature skills] - Each of the fourteen named heroes has a skill of their own. When it fires, their name and portrait sweep across the screen - Ordinary mercenaries now split into three skills per class. The skill card in a mercenary's details shows which one they use - Mercenaries you already have follow the same rule, so some of their skills may change with this update [Abyss purification] - Purifying an awakened member returns them to their original race and frees a brand slot - Purification costs abyss shards, the same as the rite for your most expensive brand - It lowers potential by 20 and every stat by 3. Growth gained after awakening stays [What comes next] - Under the boss goal on the base, a "Next unlock" line now appears. Tap it to see the next eight unlocks in floor order: named heroes joining, bond quests, new story chapters, personal trials, and the ending - Personal trials open 50 floors earlier, on floors 300, 450, 700 and 850. Recruited mercenaries can take them once they reach SS - Recruit potential now rises every 100 floors, four times up to floor 400. The recruit screen title shows it as "Tower +N" - The tutorial and the demo now name floor 999, the top of the tower, as the goal [Easier to read] - Tap a tag in the battle forecast to see what it means and how to fix it. "No back-row pressure" tells you which classes to bring - Settings > Help now has a glossary covering power, grades, front and back rows, builds, relics, materials, shards, brands, injuries, wipes and personal trials - Tapping "This week's party" on the base takes you to the tower with the party sheet already open - Gear from an expedition shows a count on the Mercs and Stash tabs until you open the stash, where it is marked NEW - After a wipe, the result screen says how much gold and how many pieces of loot you lost - The party sheet now lays out portrait cards three to a row, so more members fit on one screen [Battles and effects] - Shadows that were drawn in layers over each character are gone, so battles stutter less. In a floor 130 battle on an older phone, long hitches dropped to about a tenth - Thirteen battle effects, including slashes, bursts, shockwaves, heals, meteors and arrows, are now drawn art - Floor lords announce themselves as they enter, and their health bar leaves a trailing shadow as it drops - A multi-kill banner, a skill-ready chime and a vibration when a member falls - The result screen lists the stats each member gained in that battle. Gold and floor numbers count up as they change [Fixed] - The "Victory! Review results" button text was hard to read against its background - The tower tab icon at the bottom sat off center

Formations now have two rows, front and back. The party screen says what each row faces and warns you when one person stands alone in the back. [Two-row formation] - The middle row is gone. Mercenaries you had in the middle now stand in the back, and saves carry over as they are - Enemies that hunt the back row pick one person there at random. If only one stands in the back, that person takes every hit, so the screen names them - Knights and monks in the front take hits meant for the back row. The front row shows how many you have - Tap a mercenary to move them to the other row. "Auto-arrange" places everyone by class - The board stays the same height however many stand in a row [Gear and relics] - "Auto-equip all" now splits gear by the power shown on screen. It counts gear mastery and race bonuses, serves your party first, and never makes a swap that lowers the party's total - Sell relics with repeated options in one go from the stash. The best one of each option and any worn relic stay, and relics to be sold are marked "Duplicate" [Growth guidance] - A mercenary who has reached their potential now says so on the growth card and lists "Ways to grow further": the Personal Trials (from floor 350; clearing stage 2 on floor 500 raises the cap to 118), an Abyss Rite (+20 potential), or combat training for ordinary mercenaries (wins on floor 41 and up). Only the ways that apply are shown - On floor 41 and up, the breakthrough line for ordinary mercenaries follows that floor's rules [Difficulty] - Auto-equip and the two-row formation make parties stronger, so enemies now grow faster from floor 126. Across many expeditions you should climb at about the same pace as before [App name] - The name under the home screen icon now follows your phone's language. Korean, Japanese and Traditional Chinese phones show the game's name in that language [Fixed] - With many relics, names in the trinket swap sheet were drawn over the neighboring row. Descriptions now sit on their own line, and long names and forge ranks no longer get cut off - The Elementalist description still mentioned the removed middle row

The four named heroes locked out of the personal trials by their potential cap can now enter. [Fixed] - Baekri Hyang, Sylvaine, Fenmao and Serafina had a potential cap below the SS bar, so the personal trials never opened for them. A named hero now qualifies at their own cap, with no brand from the Abyssal Rite, and each pass still grants the unique title and look - The personal trial screen gave SS as the only way in. It now names the cap for named heroes too

Smoother battles on the high floors, and save codes now work for long-running games. [Fixed] - Around floor 250 with a party of six, the screen stuttered when several units were hit at once. On iPhone that dropped from more than twenty hitches a run to two - Battle art was being drawn from sources far larger than the size shown on screen. It now uses art sized for the view — the picture is unchanged - Battles heat the device less. Frame times hold steady through long runs on the high floors - "Create a code" failed with "save is too large" on long-running games. Codes you already wrote down still work - Auto-equip in the stash now serves your chosen party first. Benched mercenaries used to take gear from the ones you deploy

You can move a save between devices. Take a code and paste it on the other device, or export the save to a file and bring it back later. [Moving a save] - Exporting and importing a file works too. In the app it goes through the device's Files app - A moved save lands in a slot you pick, and you see what is already there before overwriting it - Plus 1 more in the patch notes [Fixed] - A battle could sit on its first frame until you pressed pause. It now recovers on its own - Tapping the save code field zoomed the screen on iPhone and never zoomed back - "Move by code" was hidden in the app, in the one place it was needed

Fixed the app closing the moment it opened on iOS 27. [Fixed] - On iPhones running iOS 27, the app closed right after the first screen. This affected 1.10.0 only, and saved games are untouched

The tower has an end. Floor 999 holds its architect, and beating him closes the climb. The road there carries thirty-four journey chapters and eighteen floor lords standing every fifty floors, and an SS mercenary can pass a personal trial to earn a name of their own. The app now opens in Japanese and Traditional Chinese. [The end of the tower] - Ireon, the Architect of the Tower, stands on floor 999. Beat him and the climb closes with a completion screen and a way home. It used to say only that the tower goes on forever. Your records stay, and cleared floors remain replayable - A unique lord stands every fifty floors, eighteen in all, from Mortum the Funeral Bellringer on floor 150 to Arken the Anchor of Return on floor 950. Each has their own silhouette and their own reason to climb - Plus 2 more in the patch notes [The journey] - The Adventure tab has a Story entry. Twenty-one main chapters and thirteen character chapters, thirty-four in all, and you resume where you stopped - Every named hero has a reason to climb, and the scattered pieces of the world gather into the ending on floor 999 - Plus 3 more in the patch notes [Personal breakthrough] - An SS mercenary takes a personal trial on floors 350, 500, 750, and 900. The challenger and two companions, three in all - Each pass unlocks a look of their own: twenty-three for ordinary builds and fourteen for named heroes, thirty-seven in all. Named heroes also take a title such as Fallen Blossom Sword Saint or Starshot of the Forest - Plus 3 more in the patch notes [Gear mastery] - Raise mastery on a weapon or armor slot. Gold that had nowhere to go once your facilities maxed out goes here - Each level raises that slot's attack, defense, and HP. It reads the floors each grade drops on, its numbers, and relic options from the same source the drops use [Healing kits] - Buy healing kits at the infirmary. The price is twice the average gold reward of your best floor [Four languages] - Japanese and Traditional Chinese are in. Four languages with Korean and English - Text that used to be baked into the screen now goes through translation: mutations, enemy prefixes, lord gimmicks, synergy and risk labels, mercenary names, and the chronicle [Screens] - Buttons, panels, tabs, and gauges are drawn art now. Roster rows, adventure entries, and the top bar wear the same parts, and the eight bottom tab icons are pixel art - The base's Roster Status is now This Week's Party. It stands the mercenaries who will actually climb instead of any five on the books, writes every name in full, and dims anyone who cannot go with the reason beside them. Tap it to go to the tower party - Plus 3 more in the patch notes [Sound] - Five tracks were rewritten with new instruments: strings, flute, horn, pads, and percussion with reverb, instead of a repeating single note - The title track no longer waits for your first tap. It was there but never heard - The battle track was rewritten darker, and story scenes carry five tracks of their own [Balance] - The four founding members now carry a tier 1 weapon and armor. Bare-handed, the first weeks ran at a 75% win rate on floor 5, 38% on floor 7 and 25% on floor 9, and one expedition reached floor 2. Lord numbers are unchanged - The floor 60 wall came down. Other companies are climbing the tower. Look around a floor to meet one that wants your loot or one that sells help, and a company you meet comes back by name and face. The Mercs tab opens on your roster, with the stash beside it. [Encounters in the tower] - The result screen after a floor has a "Look around this floor" card: one look per floor, for 8 party fatigue. It shows on tower and abyss climbs, and Dungeon tab expeditions and boss bounties skip it - A look opens one of five outcomes. An empty floor gives nothing. Traces left by an earlier company hold a piece of gear and one or two soul embers, plus abyss shards and a 20% relic chance from floor 51. Ruins, from floor 51, awaken a talent in one party member. Ruins and trace relics come once per expedition - A hostile company demands your goods. "Hand over goods" gives up your latest piece of loot; "Stand and fight" starts a raid against them at 88% of the strength of the enemies that floor sent - Nobody dies in a raid, though injuries stay. Win to take a piece of gear they carried; lose and part of this expedition's loot goes with them. Raids pay no floor rewards, and if a loss leaves nobody fit to go on, the result screen sends you home - A friendly company sells help at the floor's gold reward. "Buy intel" opens full scouting of the next floor, and "Buy supplies" restores HP and fatigue like a camp without using one. A company you traded with last time takes 20% off - Plus 3 more in the patch notes [The Mercs tab] - The Mercs tab opens on your roster, with sub-tabs Roster, Stash, Recruit, and Staff. The base's Roster Status card, once the one way in, leads there too, and Recruit shows a badge for named heroes waiting - A "Ready N / M" line tops the roster, with chips for Healing, Need rest, Low morale, Missing gear, and Retiring soon when they apply. Tap a chip to list those mercenaries - Rows drop the six combat numbers and the ability score. Each row shows weeks left to heal, which no screen had before, and one status, most urgent first: fatigue, morale, retirement, missing gear. Sort and set-all schedules fold into "Sort ▾" and "Set all ▾" - The stash moved from the bottom of the mercenary detail, two items a page, to its own sub-tab: one scrolling list of gear someone can use, relics, and everything else - Tap "For [name] ›" on a recommended item for that mercenary's swap sheet. Relic rows carry their option text and forge button, the relic header shows your forge cap, and tapping a row opens sell and re-engrave - Plus 2 more in the patch notes [Battle] - Hit pauses and effects such as sparks and dust shrink with battle speed. The pause used to run in real time, so at ×4 close to half the playback stood still - Several hits landing together share one pause, and crits and kills keep their own. Comrades in the same row give ATK and DEF +12%, once however many; rivals deployed together both gain +15% EXP; a mentor gives the junior +25% EXP; a feud in one party costs ATK and DEF −8%, 2 morale a week, and 6 in a week deployed together - The roster and party sheet show named heroes by short name (Kaiser, Mujin); the detail screen, dialogue, and codex keep the full name.
