Nautly: Logbook

Sail or power, one logbook

Free · In‑App Purchases

Nautly keeps your logbook, under sail or under engine. Anchor watch is free. Recording and viewing always cost nothing. Nautly is a logbook for everyone who takes to the water — under sail or under power. At the end of a voyage you have a ship's log: day by day, with time, position, course, propulsion and your notes — not just a line on a map. Plenty of apps can record a track. Nautly turns it into a book you can show — to the charter base asking about your experience, to crew who want their miles added up, or to yourself next winter, wondering how it really was. Whether the boat is yours, chartered, or you're along as a guest: your logbook is yours. Under sail or under power Nautly knows every kind of propulsion. Nautical miles and hours are logged side by side, kept in full for each kind. If you only ever run under power, you're not a special case — and if you switch, nothing changes. Call it a voyage, an outing, or just a day on the water: Nautly logs the same thing. What Nautly keeps • Your track by GPS, with course, speed and distance • The logbook: entry by entry, with position, weather, events and manoeuvres • Nautical miles and hours by kind of propulsion • Your crew — who was aboard, and when • Photos from your voyages • Boat, equipment and packing lists What runs without a purchase — and stays that way A voyage under way is never cut short by Nautly. Not after an hour, not after a day, not because something hasn't been bought. If you wait until you're back in harbour to decide about Nautly Pro, you haven't lost anything up to that point. The same goes for anything to do with safety. Free, for good: • Anchor watch • Man overboard • Clinometer • The skipper's handbook, in full, with no chapter locked away Charging for safety is not something Nautly does. The man overboard button does not call for help. It only holds your position so you don't lose it. You call for help yourself, by radio or phone. Where Nautly Pro begins Without a purchase, you can log one voyage — complete, with no time limit, with logbook, crew and photos. Keep it or start again: delete it and log the next one, as often as you like. Nautly Pro adds: • The logbook as PDF, the track as GPX, your data as a file • Your photos in the export • More than one voyage at a time in the logbook • The skipper's CV: your voyages and miles, added up • Crew statistics across several voyages • The safety briefing as a PDF, with an attendance list In short: recording and viewing are free. What Nautly does with it afterwards is what you pay for. You get Nautly Pro in the app, in three ways: Voyage Pass: CHF 5.00. Valid for 30 days, does not renew — there's nothing to cancel. Nautly Pro, annual subscription: CHF 20.00. 12-month term. Renews automatically for a further 12 months unless cancelled at least 24 hours before it ends. Manage or cancel it any time in your App Store account settings. Unlimited: CHF 50.00. A one-off purchase, kept for good — no subscription, nothing expires. Prices apply to Switzerland. Other countries show the local App Store price. Privacy policy: https://nautly.ch/app/datenschutz.html Terms of use: https://www.apple.com/legal/internet-services/itunes/appstore/dev/stdeula/ No account, no cloud, no tracking Nautly needs no user account and no sign-up — you get started without registering anywhere. Your logbook is not synced to any cloud; it stays on your iPhone. Nautly uses no tracking or analytics services, and no advertising IDs. For the sea marks on the map and for the weather, Nautly fetches data from the internet — that needs a signal. What Nautly is not for Nautly is a logbook for keeping records. It does not replace an official nautical chart or an approved navigation system.

  • This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.

After you tap “Berth”, Nautly no longer asks how you were moving. Questions about a stop no longer pile up after a night. Hold the launch screen: press and hold to keep it longer — release or tap to start right away. In light mode, extra details, status text and accent text are now easier to read. A trip crossing the date line no longer crashes the app. The speed legend now follows the selected unit, and empty headings in the profile PDF are gone. A tap near the Live button or the offline notice no longer accidentally operates the map underneath. Buying another Voyage Pass now extends the current one by 30 days, and the purchase button shows “Extend Voyage Pass · until …”; with an active annual subscription or Unlimited, Nautly no longer offers a Voyage Pass. Purchase Settings and the purchase screen now only offer what gives you more than your current access; with Unlimited, nothing more is suggested, the footer text below names only that offer, and a short drag on the expiry banner no longer opens the purchase screen by accident. Five areas — the “Voyage on hold” banner, the status chip, the info card, the onboard-knowledge search bar and the country flags bar — now catch taps and long presses. With large text sizes, the price in the purchase line now sits on its own line, and numbers and the price no longer break in the middle. Purchase Settings now show all three prices for every access level; only what gives you more than your current access stays purchasable, and the other rows carry a note (“active”, “included in Annual subscription” or “included in Unlimited”). “Restore purchases” now reports honestly what happened: without a connection or after an error you see a note instead of a success message, and after cancelling no message at all. Every purchase line and the “Restore purchases” line can now be tapped anywhere on their surface. On the purchase screen, each offer’s name, badge and duration now sit one below the other, and no name is split with a hyphen any more. Cancelling a purchase keeps the purchase screen open, and after “Restore purchases” you see “Your purchase is active.” or “Unlimited is active.” In the holiday logbook and the ship’s log, every speed now appears in the selected unit, the profile PDF and the crew summary show the quote in the app’s language, and the onboard-knowledge chapter “Day Shapes” now says clearly: three balls in a vertical line means aground. When measuring on the map, the map source always stays fully readable, and every tap on the hint above it sets a measuring point instead of opening the map licence. Easier to read: the stop symbol of the current voyage on the dashboard and text in the second accent colour, and in light mode also the selected tab, button labels and status words on coloured areas. In dark mode, the skipper badge now stands out more clearly from yellow and the warning colour.
