Octavo answers in a second. Scan the barcode on the back: the book fills itself in, files itself away, and if it's already on your shelves, the app tells you before you reach for your card.

Sold, given away, lent and never returned: the book leaves, its story stays. Reading dates, rating, review — all kept in your past readings. That's the heart of Octavo, and what sets it apart from a plain inventory.
Every book carries a stamped lending card, like the one glued inside a library book: one line per reading, with its dates and its rating.
WHAT YOU'RE MISSING
Note the books you want. The day you scan one, it leaves the list on its own and joins your shelves. Nothing to check off, nothing to archive.
ONE LIBRARY FOR THE WHOLE FAMILY
Everyone in the family gets their own profile, with their own readings and wishlist. Lending a book? Note who has it: "My loans" shows who has what, and since when, and Octavo reminds you with a single notification, no nagging.

Book data comes first from the catalog of the Bibliothèque nationale de France, topped up with Google Books and Open Library. That's what gives accurate titles, publishers and imprints for French publishing — where most apps fall back on an English-language database alone.

Payment is charged to your App Store account on confirmation. Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; renewal is charged within 24 hours of the period ending. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in your App Store account settings. When a subscription expires, every book you have already shelved stays readable: only adding beyond 75 books asks for Premium again.
