Explore & identify 63 insects
Free · In‑App Purchases
New: answer a few simple questions to name the insect in front of you, then log every sighting with the date, place, weather and photos.
Hold a museum's insect drawer in your hand. Insect World is an interactive 3D field guide to 63 insects, from the Hercules beetle and monarch butterfly to the honey bee, praying mantis and firefly.
EXPLORE IN 3D
• Rotate and zoom real-time 3D specimens built for iPhone and iPad.
• Tap the markers to study horns, wings, antennae, compound eyes and mouthparts.
• Cut-away and layered views show what is under the shell.
• On iPad, compare two specimens side by side with a synced camera.
IDENTIFY WHAT YOU FOUND
• "What insect is this?" asks about things you can see — wings, size, antennae, mouth — and narrows the 63 species down in a few taps.
• Skip any question you're not sure about. It works completely offline.
KEEP A FIELD JOURNAL
• Log each sighting with the date, place, weather and your own photos.
• Your collection book lights up every species you have seen in the wild.
• A timeline and seasonal calendar show what to look for next year.
LEARN AS YOU GO
• Short guided lessons and quizzes for every specimen, with progress that remembers what you missed.
• Clear facts on size, diet, habitat, range and conservation status.
• Great for curious kids, homeschool nature study, science class and amateur naturalists.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account, no ads, no analytics or tracking SDKs.
• Notes, sightings and photos stay on your device.
• The catalog and offline Q&A work without a connection.

Payment is charged to your Apple Account. Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period; manage or cancel them in your Apple Account settings.
