1 Classic boards and difficulty rhythm
· Standard 9×9 unique-solution boards: fill from the bottom number dock; digits that already appear nine times gray out. Same-puzzle Retry clears progress and restarts the timer without swapping the board.
· Easy through Expert auto-generation: free covers Easy, Normal, and Medium; Hard and Expert are Plus. Free players get three new boards a day; Plus has no daily cap—match difficulty to energy.
· Daily Puzzle is free for everyone and locks to Normal that day: finish to check in without spending a free new-game slot. Short daily sessions beat weekend marathons; missed days still show in streak stats.
2 Solving aids and in-round focus
· Toggle notes and pen anytime: mark candidates, then commit. Teaching hints explain why a digit fits, then fill on a second tap; if nothing can be explained, they give the answer. Caps: three free, five Plus.
· Undo and erase form a forgiveness loop: step back through fills, notes, and hints, or clear the current cell. Mistakes spend lives (three free, five Plus) so you slow down near the limit.
· Timer, pause-to-hide, and highlights work together: pause hides filled digits; selection highlights row, column, box, and matching digits so clashes jump out.
3 Resume, settle, and personal review
· Auto-save covers in-progress and paused states: force-quit, switch apps, or take a call and return to the same board and clock.
· Win when complete; lose when lives hit zero, with paths to continue or start anew. After a fail you can freely review wrong cells; Plus can continue once on the same board—mistake count clears while progress and timer stay.
· Today’s summary (games, wins, Daily, free games left) is free; full history—totals, win rate, streaks, best times—unlocks with Plus. Warm Paper is free; Quiet Blue, Bamboo Green, and other mood themes recolor board and controls.
